On Thursday we travel to Citi Field to find value in an NRFI between two National League teams: the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers
The Mets will send out this generation's best NRFI pitcher in Jacob DeGrom. Coming into today, he is a perfect 5-0 to the NRFI with a 3-0 home NRFI split. When facing teams hitters the first time through the order, DeGrom has completely dominated, allowing only four hits in 45 at-bats
Here is how DeGrom has done in the past against these Dodgers hitters:
- Mookie Betts: 1-for-5
- Max Muncy: 2-for-10
- Justin Turner: 2-for-22
- Freddie Freeman: 15-for-63
The Dodgers will counter with Tyler Anderson, who has been the silver lining in their rotation after losing Mx Scherzer and Walker Buehler. Coming into today, Anderson is 17-5 to the NRFI with a 9-3 away NRFI split.
When facing teams' lead-off hitters, Anderson has shown his dominance, allowing only 10 hits in 69 at-bats.
Here is how he fared in the past against some of these Mets hitters:
- Pete Alsonso: 0-for-4
- Francisco Lindor: 0-for-6
- Starling Marte: 3-for-16
- Mark Canha: 2-for-10
It should be noted that Lindor could use a few days off. Overall, he is just 1-for-16 over the last week.
Anderson has won all of his previous matchups against these hitters, and we will expect to see a continuation of these results today.
The Mets are considered a YRFI team, but they are currently riding a 7-3 NRFI streak, and we will ride that one more time with Anderson in the mound. And DeGrom will look to add another win to his Hall of Fame-NRFI resume.
As always, six outs to glory…
