Two of the most storied rivals are set to begin their second series in a week. Just last weekend, the Boston Red Sox went into the Bronx and took two games from the Yankees. Now the Yankees will head into Fenway with revenge on their minds.

However, the quick rematch is even deeper as the two men on the mound are the same as last Saturday. Domingo German and Tanner Houck will look to repeat their success, but a closer look shows that one of them may not be so fortunate this time around.

What's the best way to bet on this series opener between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox? Let's dig in to find out.

New York Yankees

The Yankees are desperately missing their leader Aaron Judge. However, they will need to figure something out fast as Judge is still without a timeline, and we may not see him before the All-Star break.

Judge has now missed a total of 20 games this season, and the Yankees are 9-11 without him. While their record may not be so bad, a look at their offensive stats will show you just how fortunate they have been.

New York is hitting just .212 as a team in the 20 games without Judge. That is just not going to get the job done as their sample size without him expands.

Tonight, they will get a second look at Houck. Houck was solid against them last week as he turned in a quality start while striking out six.

That outing was another step in the right direction for Houck, as he's due for positive regression. The current Yankees lineup has not hit him well at all, as they have just a .141 BAA in 64 combined at-bats.

With Houck trending up and the Yankees trending down, it may be tough for them to do much in the early part of this game.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox lineup has cooled significantly over the last two weeks. In that span, they have hit just .237 as a team and have a wRC+ of 89.

However, they are in a great bounce-back spot tonight as they get to face German. German had a successful outing against them last week, but the Red Sox were seeing the ball well from him.

Boston had nine balls hit over 90 mph against German in that game, and five of them resulted in hits. While neither side was unlucky in that game, the numbers are pointing toward the Red Sox getting the better of him tonight.

German has an xERA of 4.29 and a FIP of 4.38, which is a sign of sizable regression from his season ERA of 3.49. We should see the Red Sox get the bats going against him tonight.

Yankees vs. Red Sox Betting Pick

In last weekend's series, we were able to get some good value on the Sox, as they were underdogs on the road. Now that the series has flipped, they are small favorites tonight.

However, we've gone over that they have a clear edge on the mound in this matchup, and they should be able to get their offense going against an arm they've seen recently.

Back Boston to be up halfway through this one.
