The Los Angeles Lakers are stacked — with players that peaked in 2012.

All joking aside, this team is still solid. The core pieces from their 2020 championship run are still there, of course.

LeBron James — despite the minutes he's accumulated — is still LeBron James, a top-two player of all-time.

And Anthony Davis' production hasn't worsened either.

Still, the public seems to think there's value on them to miss the playoffs.

It's the most popular bet at BetMGM in the category of whether teams will make or miss the playoffs.

A ridiculous 99.9% of the money is on the Lakers to miss the playoffs at +1400.

Missing the playoffs means not being among the final eight teams in the Western or Eastern Conferences after the play-in tournaments.

Be advised that, in other words, making the play-in tournament does not count as making the playoffs for this type of wager.

One bettor was so confident that he or she placed $10,000 on the Lakers to miss the playoffs to win $160,000.

Maybe that person should have just followed our NBA experts and bet on Cade Cunningham to win Rookie of the Year at +160 or Jalen Green to win the same award at +320.

The Lakers' odds to make the playoffs are -5000 and only 0.1% of the money is on that line.

The Los Angeles Clippers at +225 and the Golden State Warriors at +450 were the other two most popular selections to miss the playoffs.

Each line has about 99% of the total money on it to hit.

The Clippers' odds to make the playoffs are -275 while the Warriors' are listed at -650.

The most wagered on teams to make the playoffs were the Detroit Pistons at +2000, the Chicago Bulls at -165 and the Toronto Raptors at +260.

The Pistons are -10000 to miss, the Bulls are -165 and the Raptors are listed at -350.
