Welcome to the 2024 NBA Draft mock draft — according to the sportsbooks.
This isn't your typical mock draft. This mock draft will utilize DraftKings' odds to create the market's assessment as to what the most likely top 20 selections of the NBA Draft will be.
1. AtlantaHawks
Selection: Zaccharie Risacher – JL Bourg (French League)
Odds: -250 on DraftKings
Many mock drafts still have Alexandre Sarr as the No. 1 overall pick but the odds have been moving in the direction of Risacher. Sarr is now the third favorite at +600. Risacher is a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 10.1 points per game in France's top league.
2. Washington Wizards
Selection: Alexandre Sarr – Perth (NBL)
Odds: -650 at DraftKings
Risacher becoming the favorite to go first has made Sarr an even greater favorite to go No. 2 overall to the Wizards. The 7-foot-1 Sarr averaged 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in Australia.
3. Houston Rockets
Selection: Reed Sheppard – Kentucky
Odds: -150 at DraftKings
Sheppard is the slight favorite on DraftKings — the Rockets need scoring, and this man might be the best pure scorer in this weakened draft. But Donovan Clingan is lingering at this selection at +350 odds. Sheppard is a sharpshooter who averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting over 50% from the three-point line during his freshman season at Kentucky.
4. San Antonio Spurs
Selection: Stephon Castle – UConn
Odds: +160 at DraftKings
Castle is the slight favorite to go No. 4 overall. Sheppard and Clingan are both lurking at +400 and +500 odds, respectively. Castle is known as a two-way guard and averaged 10.1 points per game during his freshman season at UConn.
5. Detroit Pistons
Selection: Matas Buzelis – G-League Ignite
Buzelis is the favorite to go to Detroit and appears to be the popular pick, according to mock drafts. Cody Williams is a dark horse for this pick with the second-highest odds (+400). Buzelis is a 6-foot-10 forward from California who averaged 14.1 points per game in the G-League.
6. Charlotte Hornets
Selection: Dalton Knecht – Tennessee
Odds: +225 at DraftKings
The leading scorer in the SEC is the favorite to go to the Hornets. Clingen is the third-highest favorite to be selected sixth overall at +450 odds, right behind former teammate Stephon Castle at +425. Knecht averaged 21.7 points per game last season at Tennessee after transferring from Northern Colorado.
7. Portland Trail Blazers
Selection: Cody Williams – Colorado
Odds: +400 at DraftKings
Williams has been climbing the draft boards in recent weeks. There's a likelihood he could go as high as the fifth overall pick and as low as 15th overall. He is currently the favorite at DraftKings and FanDuel to play for Chauncey Billups, another Colorado Buffalo. Williams, the younger brother of the Oklahoma City Thunder's Jalen Williams, averaged 11.9 points per game during his freshman season at Colorado.
8. San Antonio Spurs
Selection: Devin Carter
Odds: +300 at DraftKings
Carter is the favorite as the Spurs' second selection in the top 10. Tidjane Salaun (+400) and Rob Dillingham (+550) are two other likely picks at this spot. Carter averaged 19.7 points per game during his junior season for the Providence Friars.
9. Memphis Grizzlies
Selection: Donovan Clingan (+1200)
This is an Action Network executive decision. Clingan is not favored for any of the picks in the top ten — but he's also unlikely to slide, seeing as he's the second favorite to go first overall. Because Carter is also the favorite at the ninth overall pick, we will slot Clingan in here. Clingan was one of the stars for the national championship-winning UConn Huskies.
10. Utah Jazz
Selection: Nikola Topic – Crvena zvezda (Serbia)
Odds: +550 at DraftKings
This pick can go in a lot of different directions. Six different players are between +550 and +750 to be selected 10th overall at DraftKings. We will go ahead and slot in the favorite. Topic is a 6-foot-6 guard who averaged 17.8 points per game in Serbia's top league.
11. Chicago Bulls
Selection: Ronald Holland – G-League Ignite
Odds: +400 at DraftKings
Holland could go earlier, seeing as he is one of the favorites at No. 9 and No. 10. But this appears to be the most likely spot for the G-League Ignite graduate. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged over 20 points per game in the G-League.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder
Selection: Carlton Carrington – Pittsburgh
Odds: +650 at DraftKings
This pick could also go plenty of different ways depending on how the board falls. But Carlton is the most likely selection, according to oddsmakers. Carrington is a 6-foot-4 guard who averaged 13.8 points per game during his freshman season with the Pittsburgh Panthers.
13. Sacramento Kings
Selection: Ja'Kobe Walter – Baylor
Odds: +650 at DraftKings
The Baylor product is the most likely selection at 13th overall, according to DraftKings. Rob Dillingham and Tristan da Silva are also a couple of likely selections for the Kings. Walter averaged 14.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during his freshman season at Baylor.
14. Portland Trail Blazers
Selection: Jared McCain – Duke
Odds: +600 at DraftKings
McCain is favored to be the last selection in the lottery by DraftKings. McCain was rated as one of the top recruits in the country but his stock has slipped after a season with Duke.
15. Miami Heat
Selection: Isaiah Collier – USC
Odds: +800 at DraftKings
McCain is actually the favorite to go to the Heat. But we can't put someone in here twice, which means we will take the next closest favorite in Collier. Collier was the top recruit in the country according to 247Sports. His freshman season was up-and-down as the Trojans struggled throughout the season.
16. Philadelphia 76ers
Selection: Tristan da Silva – Colorado
Odds: +800 at DraftKings
The 76ers are likely to select a role player with this pick and that's exactly what they would be getting in da Silva. The Colorado product is the favorite to go 16th overall and the next three-highest in odds have already been taken in this mock draft. Da Silva is a 6-foot-8 wing who was a do-it-all forward for the Buffaloes.
17. Los Angeles Lakers
Selection: Zach Edey
Odds: +700 at DraftKings
This will be a controversial pick, with some inclined to think the Lakers could reach and take Bronny James (+2500) here. But the favorite on DraftKings is Edey, the two-time AP College Basketball Player of the Year. Collier is also +700 to be the 17th overall pick.
18. Orlando Magic
Selection: Kyle Filipowski – Duke
Odds: +900 at DraftKings
McCain is the favorite to be selected 18th overall but he has already been selected so we'll go with the next-highest odds. Filipowski led the Blue Devils with 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
19. Toronto Raptors
Selection: Kel'el Ware – Indiana
Odds: +1000 at DraftKings
Ware is not the favorite to be the 19th overall selection. In fact, he's not even in the top-three in odds at DraftKings. But the top-three have all been selected already so we slotted Ware in with the Raptors. Ware is a 7-footer who led the Indiana Hoosiers with 15.9 points per game.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers
Selection: Johnny Furphy – Kansas
Odds: +800 at DraftKings
Ware (+700) is the favorite to go to the Cavaliers at 20th overall. Edey is next at +750. Furphy is directly behind those two at +800. Furphy is a sharpshooter who averaged nine points per game for the Jayhawks.
