After an excellent showing in the Salt Lake City Summer League, Chet Holmgren is the favorite to take home the MVP award at the Vegas Summer League.
Holmgren is listed at +900 to take home the honor.
While the Salt Lake City Summer League was just a two-game affair for most players, the Vegas Summer League is a 10-day league that has had its name since 2007.
Holmgren posted a 17-point average to go with 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
Oddsmakers have made this a wide-open field, with Jaden Ivey the next-shortest favorite at +1600.
No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero follows in behind Ivey at +1700, and Bennedict Mathurin (+2000) is the only other player at +2000 or shorter.
There have only been a handful of Summer League MVPs that have turned out to become some of the best players in the league.
Due to the short nature of the Summer League, there isn't much time for players to separate themselves from the pack.
In 2021, Davion Mitchell and Cam Thomas were co-MVPs. In 2019, Brandon Clarke won the award and in 2018 Josh Hart was the MVP.
Stars such as Damian Lillard, John Wall and Blake Griffin took home MVP honors in 2012, 2010 and 2009, respectively.
The championship game will be played on July 17 in Las Vegas.
