The Memphis Grizzlies (44-28) will visit the Oklahoma City Thunder (60-12) in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The game will be broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Thunder are 10-point favorites over the Grizzlies on the spread (Thunder -10), with the over/under set at 237.5 total points. Oklahoma City is a -500 favorite to win outright, while Memphis is +380 to pull off the upset.

Oklahoma City continues its quest for 70 wins and the best season in franchise history. Memphis continues its quest to find a better version of themselves before the playoffs. Where’s the value when the juggernaut faces off against the upstart? Let's get into my Grizzlies vs. Thunder predictions and NBA picks for Thursday night.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Preview

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC wins by an average of 12 points per game. They defeat teams that are top-ten in point differential by an average of just over nine points per game. Any time that the Thunder are laying less than 15 points, it’s been a good idea to just lay the points with them.

Memphis’s big weakness is turnovers. The Thunder force the most turnovers and score the most efficiently off them, which is a recipe for this getting out of hand.

The Grizzlies will look to push the pace, but chaotic games are where OKC is able to thrive, not by playing into it but instead by wrangling the game at a faster pace. Playing faster vs. OKC just means they get their lead faster.

Memphis struggles defending pick and rolls, which is a nightmare of a problem against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis is consistently good at attacking in isolation which is helpful vs. the Thunder’s switching scheme.

The Grizzlies’ size combo with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edey is a double-edged sword. It should struggle to defend the Thunder’s five-out sets and pick-and-roll weapons, but offensively, it should dominate the glass and score on the interior.

Expect Santi Aldama to have success against OKC’s secondary units as a playmaker.

Betting Trends

  • Both teams are great in their respective spots ATS; Memphis is 69.4% ATS on the road, while the Thunder are 68% ATS at home.
  • Memphis is only 9-9-1 as a road dog this season, however, while OKC is 68% as a home favorite.
  • A weird one: After playing the Kings this season, teams are just 29-42 ATS (41%). After playing @ Sacramento, teams are 12-24 ATS. The Thunder last played the Kings in Sacramento.

Grizzlies vs Thunder Betting Predictions

I just can’t help myself from taking the Thunder in this spot.

Memphis is better than it has played the last few months and the spot for OKC isn’t great. They have nothing to play for with the West 1-seed locked up. But they are playing to win every game and have been the most consistent team against the spread this season.

So, I’ll lay the points with OKC here.

Grizzlies vs Thunder Best Bet

  • Thunder -10 (-110)
