Knicks Betting Outlook

The Knicks have completely flipped the narrative on their season, as they have now gone 11-2 since the OG Anunoby trade.

Anunoby has proven he is undeniably one of the best defenders in the NBA. The Knicks defense has been an unfathomable 30 points better per 100 possessions with Anunoby on the floor. The betting markets are starting to respect his Defensive Player of the Year case, as he has skyrocketed from 40-1 odds all the way to 14-1 at many sportsbooks.

The Knicks have a +25.6 net rating with Anunoby on the court across 13 games. His overall net rating swing is +43.7 with the Knicks, and no one else in the NBA with at least 400 minutes played is within 20 points of him. The next closest player is Nikola Jokić, who is at a +22.7 and is widely considered to be the best player in the world right now.

Anunoby’s impact has been undeniable, and he should be able to impact this game massively given his switchability. We will likely see him primarily guard Jimmy Butler, but he will certainly have possessions on Jaime Jaquez Jr., Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo as well.

Heat Betting Outlook

The Heat have had an injury-riddled season but are still 24-21 despite missing multiple starters for long stretches of time.

This team just added Terry Rozier from the Hornets, and I expect its offensive efficiency to improve with the addition of Rozier and the return of Butler to the lineup. Saturday could also mark Jaquez’s return, so this may be the healthiest the Heat have been all season.

Nobody is ever talking about this team, but they manage to be in the conference finals or finals every season because of the greatness of Erik Spoelstra. This game may be decided on whether or not the Heat can block out the Knicks considering New York ranks No. 1 in offensive rebound rate (32.9%) while the Heat rank fifth in defensive rebound rate.

If Isaiah Hartenstein is unable to go, there will be value on backing the Heat here. Miami is just a deeper team than New York and we also have a Knicks team coming off one of their most emotional wins of the season.

This is a massive let-down spot for the Knicks, and I think the Heat will have their full roster available for this one. Back Miami at +5 and play this down to +4 if Hartenstein is unable to go.

Pick: Heat +5 | Play to +4
