A Ja Morant card went viral over the last 48 hours after it was discovered that Michael Oher's parents — Sean and Leigh Ann Touhy — were in the picture on the card.
The card, from 2021 Panini Chronicles, was already marketed as having others in the crowd — rapper Young Dolph, who died in 2021, and Key Glock, a rapper from Memphis.
The story behind this card keeps getting CRAZIER AND CRAZIER…
Anyone else able to identify a celebrity in the background here? 🤣
PSA 10 copies of this card were selling around $100 last week, and they’re now up to $325+ with all the new discoveries! pic.twitter.com/FS4XEXfG84

But with the Tuohys in the news after Oher sued them — alleging they profited mightily off "The Blind Side" without giving him a dime — the card picked up steam on eBay.
Over 100 of the cards sold, including ungraded cards for roughly $55 per. PSA 10s sold for as high as $550 each. According to data from Sports Card Investor, a PSA 10 could be had for just over $100 on July 31.
The last time a basketball card received a boost from the picture was in Dec. 2018 when it was discovered that the Menendez brothers were sitting courtside in a photo on Mark Jackson's 1990 Hoops card. Based on the timing of the photo, the Menendez brothers had already killed their parents, but had not been arrested. The card went from a worthless common to a card that was sold for hundreds of dollars.
Other minor celebrities in the Morant 2021 card include actor Todd Bridges and rapper Crunchy Black.
