Knicks vs. Mavericks Preview

The addition of Karl-Anthony Towns has been a boon for the Knicks offense as they have risen from seventh to second in offensive rating. However, they are coming off their best offensive performance of the season as they scored 145 points, shooting 61% from the field and 53% on Monday night in Denver. The Knicks played so well offensively that Nuggets coach Mike Malone was left angered and embarrassed with his team's performance.

Typically, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns lead the way for the Knicks as the duo combines for 51 points per game. However, Monday was OG Anunoby's night as the forward scored a career-high 40 points and 16-of-23 shooting from the field. Anunoby has scored 20 points in six of his last 10 games overall and four of his last six games against the Mavericks.

Brunson also should be motivated tonight going against his former team. He scored 30 points in his last game in Dallas. However, he enters tonight's matchup with eight assists in eight of his last 10 games. That includes a career-high 17 against the Nuggets.

Meanwhile, Towns may only have to deal with Daniel Gafford tonight as Dereck Lively II only played 11 minutes on Monday and is listed questionable tonight with an illness. Dallas is 26th in rebounds per game and is allowing 15.4 per game to centers. Towns has pulled down 10 rebounds in nine of his last 10 games.

Dallas will be without Luka Doncic once again, but that has not slowed down its offense. With Monday's 129-119 victory over Atlanta, Dallas has scored at least 118 points in each of its last five games. Dallas is fifth in offensive rating and fourth in pace in that span.

Irving has continued to step up in Doncic's absence as he has scored 59 points in his last two games. He is averaging 29 points per game in his last four games against the Knicks, including games of 32 and 44 points. He also enters tonight's game with six assists in eight of his last nine games. He has reached six in each of his last four against the Knicks.

Knicks vs. Mavericks Prediction

The over has hit in three of the Knicks last four games and all three overs have soared over 233 points. The Mavericks have also gone 4-0-1 to the over in their last five games with 240 points in the four overs. The over has also hit in the last three meetings in this series. While those trends are nice, tonight's matchup features two top five offenses over the last five games and top six offenses for the season.

OG Anunoby should be a major contributor to the total considering his hot stretch offensively. Dallas is also allowing 23 points per game to power forwards. We were able to take advantage of that on Monday night with Jalen Johnson. While he has a different skill set than Johnson, Anunoby has two threes in seven of his last nine games, including 12 in his last two games.

Expect Brunson to find him for a couple of threes when he drives and kicks it out to him in the corner. Dallas is 23rd in assists allowed per game, allowing nine per game to point guards. The Knicks are also allowing nine assists per game to point guards. That bodes well for Irving, who may see extra defensive attention tonight without Doncic.

Lastly, I expect several misses to lay in the hands of Towns. As the only player in tonight's game averaging 10 rebounds per game, he is in good position to be the leading rebounder tonight.

Best Bet: Over 233 (-110, FanDuel)
Same Game Parlay: OG Anunoby 15 Points| Jalen Brunson 8 Assists| Kyrie Irving 6 Assists| Karl-Anthony Towns 10 Rebounds (+375, FanDuel)
