Knicks vs. Pacers Preview

The Knicks head to Indiana to take on the Pacers who have surged up the Eastern Conference standings since the beginning of the year. In this rematch from the Eastern Conference Semifinals, who has the edge?

The Knicks have two key injuries on the report with OG Anunoby (foot – Questionable) and Josh Hart (Knee – Probable). The Pacers have listed Myles Turner (cervical – Questionable) on their report.

This is the front end of a back-to-back for both teams before the All-Star Break. While Hart likely plays, I would not be surprised to see both Anunoby and Turner get rest potentially through the All-Star Break.

Since January 1st, the Pacers are a staggering 13-4 with a +7.5 Net Rating (4th), and while the Knicks have been successful 11-8 (+3.1), they have been a bit inconsistent, per Cleaning the Glass.  The Knicks' offense is still excellent; however, the defense has given them difficulties. Despite Indiana’s recent surge, the Knicks have been the better team overall this season.

The Knicks are seventh in Adjusted Net Rating (+4.3) compared to Indiana at 15th (+0.2), per Dunks and Threes. The biggest factor in this game is that Indiana does not shoot threes at a high frequency, and this has been an exploitable spot against the Knicks. If Indiana is unable to capitalize on that, it's tough to keep up with New York.

These teams have split the season series so far with the Knicks taking the first game in October and the Pacers winning the second in November. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns have led the charge for the Knicks while Bennedict Mathurin has shown out with 38 and 20 in his two games.

Knicks vs. Pacers Prediction

The Knicks are short road favorites here and after a tough loss to the Celtics, I expect them to bounce back. The Pacers have a strong offense; however, if they do not have Myles Turner, they will be even more susceptible to KAT's scoring at every level.

I'll keep an eye on the injury report; however, with the Pacers being less likely to maximize on the Knicks' weak 3 point defense, this should favor the Knicks.

For my same game parlay, I'll take Mathurin 10+ Points, Brunson 25+ Points and KAT 20+ Points.

Best Bet: Knicks -2.5 (-115)

Same Game Parlay Picks
