The New York Knicks (50-29) will visit the Detroit Pistons (43-36) in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The game will broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Pistons are 3.5-point favorites over the Knicks on the spread (Pistons -3.5), with the over/under set at 228.5 total points. Detroit is a -165 favorite to win outright, while New York is +135 to pull off the upset.

New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons NBA Preview

The Knicks are on the front end of a back-to-back, with the latter half being against the Cavaliers at home. I won't say they're punting on this one, but Josh Hart, Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby are all sitting, hence why they're 3.5-point underdogs against the team they'll likely face in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs (not officially locked in yet).

Still, with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns not listed on the injury report for now, I won't make a move on the spread. Additionally, the general uncertainty on availability clouds the spread too much for me.

I'm fine with throwing the Pistons moneyline in a parlay leg. Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris are probable, and Isaiah Stewart is questionable. They can very well get this done. I won't have a standalone play on the moneyline here, though.

I don't often take overs or unders late in the regular season, regarding the total. So, to prop land we go.

This is an intriguing spot for Cade Cunningham. I'm taking him over 34.5 points + assists. This is already a good matchup for Cunningham against the Knicks backcourt, enhanced without Anunoby and Hart as defensive options, plus Robinson is out, who is a true rim protector.

This isn't exclusively about scoring, this is arguably more about the playmaking potential. The Knicks allow the 5th-highest three-point percentage this season, and this is a point Detroit can exploit given that the defense is losing three valuable representatives.

Cunningham has gone over 34.5 points + assists in two straight matchups against the Knicks, and in five of his last eight games overall.
