Knicks vs. Spurs Preview

The Knicks face off against the Spurs on Wednesday night and look to keep up their success after defeating the Miami Heat on Monday. Let's dive into this showdown.

The Knicks will continue to be without Jalen Brunson, but also have listed Mitchell Robinson on the injury report as questionable heading into the front end of a back-to-back with the Hornets tomorrow night.

The Spurs have begun to focus on player development after ruling out both Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox for the rest of the season. They have slipped to 13th in the Western Conference, but up in the lottery odds.

The Knicks are still strong without Brunson and have had a number of key players step up in his absence, including well-rounded efforts from Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart and Miles McBride.

They have all picked up the offensive slack and the defense has held as well with some different rotations and schemes available to them without Brunson on the floor. One of the keys to that is Mitchell Robinson. When healthy, he is an elite defensive option and one of the league's best rebounders.

Since March 1st, the Knicks have the second-best defense in the league, in part because of Robinson, but the offense has lagged behind a bit. The Spurs actually have the top offense in the league. However, they have the league's worst defense over this stretch. The Knicks should have no trouble scoring on them as they have been an absolute sieve from beyond the arc and at the rim.

Knicks vs. Spurs Prediction

This matchup against the Spurs is a get right spot for the Knicks' offense, which shouldn't have any issues scoring the basketball. While the Spurs' offense has found success of late, they have some soft games littered in March. However, they still put up strong performances against the Grizzlies, Thunder and Lakers. It's possible Robinson sits, and that would only help the offenses here, so I'll grab over 230.5.

For a SGP, Towns should feast on the interior and I'll take Towns 25+ Points, Anunoby 15+ Points and Bridges 15+ Points.

Best Bet: Over 230.5
