LeBron James has partnered with DraftKings to provide picks on the NFL, college football and other major sporting events besides basketball, the sportsbook said in a statement on Wednesday.
As an active player in the NBA, James is ineligible to provide picks or insight on NBA games. LeBron is, however, permitted to wager on any other sport or casino game.
While DraftKings still doesn't know exactly how this partnership will develop, their press release indicated they'd lean on him to make weekly NFL picks — similar to what he's been doing on Instagram this season already.
“Welcoming one of the most influential and greatest athletes of all time, LeBron James, to the DraftKings family is an absolute honor and privilege,” said CEO of DraftKings Jason Robins in a statement. “LeBron will help support key football initiatives and tentpole events through content creation, such as weekly football picks, and more."
