The Orlando Magic (31-36) and Minnesota Timberwolves (38-29) will meet in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game will be broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Timberwolves are 10-point favorites over the Magic on the spread (Timberwolves -10), with the over/under set at 208.5 total points. Minnesota is a -500 favorite to win outright, while Orlando is +380 to pull off the upset.

Let's get into my Magic vs. Timberwolves predictions and NBA picks for Friday, March 14.

Magic vs. Timberwolves Picks, Prediction

Spread

I'm staying away from the spread in tonight's contest.

Moneyline

Magic or nothing, and they have provided no reason to sprinkle on them as of late.

Over/Under

I don't love the total for this game. I prefer to go with the Timberwolves team total.

My Pick: Timberwolves Team Total Over 109.5 Points

Magic vs. Timberwolves Preview

The spread is a lot. Timberwolves -10? But it is justified. Orlando has only covered in two of eight, though they've only lost by double figures twice.

The Wolves, however, have won six straight games, covering in five of those, winning by at least 14 points in five of their six wins.

The trends say T-Wolves, but I'm staying away from picking a side, and the same for the moneyline.

The total is really low at 209.5, but both teams are tops of the NBA defensively — especially Minnesota during this recent stretch. Their offense is still clunky at times, but Orlando's always is, which makes the under appealing.

The Magic is on the second of a back-to-back. Minnesota has scored 115 or more in five of six and 110 or more in 10 of 12.

I don't love the total. So I played Minnesota over 108.5 points on DraftKings, and I like over 109.5 as well. I'd jump at anything above that.

Magic vs. Timberwolves Best Bet

  • Timberwolves Team Total Over 109.5 (-115)
