Bulls vs. Bucks
By Joe Dellera
The Bucks face off against the Bulls on Wednesday night and I’m targeting Giannis Antetokounmpo to have a big game.
Antetokounmpo has torched Nikola Vucevic and hit this line in nine of his past 10 games against Chicago when playing at least 10 minutes. Antetokounmpo is the clear engine to the offense and a matchup Chicago has no answer for as the Bulls are allowing opponents to absolutely destroy them in the paint and at the rim.
Couple that with the fact that Chicago plays at — by far — the fastest Pace in the league and this is an elite Pace Up opportunity for Antetokounmpo. When these teams last met, Antetokounmpo scored 38 points.
I expect him to have another monster game tonight. I’ll back Antetokounmpo to exceed 30.5 points.
Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 30.5 Points
Pacers vs. Rockets
By Joe Dellera
I’m splitting my bet in half here to target Turner.
Turner has started games extremely hot this season and has averaged 4.9 points in the first quarter. He plays about nine minutes in that rotation and, as a result, gets the opportunity to start the game strong. He has exceeded 4.5 1Q points in four straight games.
He also has a strong history vs. the Rockets. In five games against Alperen Sengun, he has averaged 21.8 points per game and exceeded his full game line of 16.5 in all five games. The Rockets have been strong defensively this season, but are susceptible to the bigs who are able to spread the floor. Brook Lopez (27), Isaiah Stewart (16) and Chet Holmgren (29) all exceeded their point total against Houston recently.
I like Turner to start strong and continue that performance throughout the game.
Pick: Myles Turner Over 16.5 Points, Over 4.5 1Q Points
Trail Blazers vs. Thunder
DeAndre Ayton's finger sprain will likely keep him out for this one, meaning Donovan Clingan should get his fourth consecutive start.
It's a good match-up for Clingan, who'd be going up against a centerless Thunder squad on the second end of a back-to-back, which began with a road loss in San Antonio without Victor Wembanyama.
Clingan has cleared this prop in two of his past four games. Clingan should be fine if he stays out of foul trouble.
Pick: Donovan Clingan Over 14.5 Points + Rebounds
Trail Blazers vs. Thunder
By Matt Moore
The Blazers have been an under team this season and surprisingly not awful (20th, schedule-adjusted) defensively. They are actually the sixth-best team in opponent points in the paint. They're not great vs. 3-pointers, but they're not awful either. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City is likely motivated to lock down defensively after losing to the Spurs on Tuesday night.
I make this number 214.5 and feel comfortable playing it to 216.
Pick: Under 224
Knicks vs. Suns
By Joe Dellera
The Knicks face off against the Phoenix Suns, who will be without both Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. The Knicks are going to look to continue their hot play, which has centered around Karl-Anthony Towns and his ability to attack on the interior and from beyond the arc.
Towns is averaging 26.2 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season and has been the primary offensive engine for New York. The Suns are also listing Jusuf Nurkic, who Towns can always attack when he’s playing in a drop, on the injury report. If Phoenix ends up going with Mason Plumlee instead, that’s also a highly exploitable matchup for Towns.
The Suns’ defense has slipped as they’re now 19th in Adjusted Defensive Rating and struggling to defend the perimeter and rim — two spots that Towns smashes from — from an efficiency standpoint.
Further, as Towns has become more comfortable in this offense, we're seeing the assists climb. He has 3+ in four straight games and has been looking for his teammates when defenses collapse on him.
I like Towns to have a strong overall effort tonight and exceed 40.5 PRA.
Pick: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 40.5 PRA
Magic vs. Clippers
By Matt Moore
Orlando got a rare road win the other night, but is still dreadful away from home. The Magic are 7-14 ATS on the road since March 1 of last year and 2-6 this season.
The Clippers are 5-4 ATS at home. Their combination of bigs to battle inside and James Harden's pick-and-roll game should be enough to get past Orlando. I like the Clippers to cover and win outright.
