Magic vs. Cavaliers
By Bill Marzano
The Cleveland Cavaliers have the best overall record at 56-10 after posting a franchise record 17th straight win over the Memphis Grizzlies and have now won 20 of their last 21 games overall.
The Cavaliers are looking for a season sweep of Orlando after winning 120-109 on November 1 and 122-82 on February 25.
The Magic will be playing their fifth straight road game in just eight nights, so expect them to show some tired legs in this matchup.
The Magic have numerous injuries and have scored fewer than 103 points in each of their last four.
Pick: Cavaliers -10.5 (-110)
Suns vs. Lakers
By Joe Dellera
The Lakers face off against the Phoenix Suns today in their second game in as many days.
The Lakers listed Luka Doncic as Probable for this one after sitting out yesterday. However, Austin Reaves has still thrived when playing alongside Doncic, especially without LeBron James.
Reaves has averaged 16.3 Rebounds + Assists (RA) without LeBron this season, and even with Luka Doncic, he’s recorded 18 and 11 RA.
This matchup against the Suns is strong as well. The Suns have the third-worst Defensive Rating since the All-Star Break, and are on the fringe of the playoff picture. They have struggled to stop anyone with a 5-8 record.
Reaves has developed an excellent rapport with both Doncic and Knecht, and can rack up dimes through them. He also has been instrumental to kickstarting the offense by grabbing rebounds and getting out into transition. I’ll grab Reaves Over 10.5 RA.
Pick: Austin Reaves Over 10.5 Rebounds + Assists (-130)
Hawks vs. Nets
Word that top scorer Cam Thomas is out again shouldn't be regarded as the worst news for the Nets.
That's because Brooklyn was winless in the six games since Thomas made his recent return to active duty, so word that a hamstring strain likely keeps him out the rest of the season has a different consequence, as Jordi Fernandez had his team playing at a slower pace and sharing the ball more effectively minus a heavy ball-usage force like Thomas.
Remember, in February, the Nets had a 7-2 SU stretch minus-Thomas.
Without Thomas, Brooklyn also pushed the Celtics to the wall on Saturday, while the Hawks' recent uptick was derailed on Friday in a heavy home loss to the Clippers. Play Nets.
Pick: Nets +6 (-110)
Jazz vs. Timberwolves
By Joe Dellera
Anthony Edwards and the Wolves get a Sunday matchup against the Utah Jazz today.
With Utah recently getting in some hot water for violating the Player Participation Policy, I expect their best players to be available, which helps us avoid a blowout.
