Bucks vs. Warriors
By Joe Dellera
The Bucks face off against the Warriors on Tuesday night in a showdown between two playoff bound teams.
The Bucks have listed both Giannis and Dame on the injury report as Probable, so they likely both play and this line is great.
Dame has thrived in these matchups against the Warriors. He averages 27.6 points and 7 assists per game over the last few seasons.
Additionally, on the season, he is averaging 32.1 Points + Assists (PA) and has exceeded this line in 66% of games. I like adding the assists here because Giannis also has a softer matchup.
He should be able to get into the paint and attack the rim with relative ease which sets up for some easy dimes. And in the event Giannis doesn’t play, then Dame is relied upon to distribute even more.
I’ll back Dame on Tuesday night.
Pick: Damian Lillard Over 28.5 Points + Assists (-120)
Hawks vs. Hornets
Mark Williams has had double doubles in four straight games and in eight of his last nine.
Trae Young has had double doubles in eight of his last 11 and in 13 of his last 20.
These two played each other on Wednesday: Williams had 14 and 14, and Young had 35 and 12.
The matchup is there, as well as the recent production and general need for both to get going on each side.
Plus, with Atlanta, we're getting the league's second-fastest pace, and ideally the better team would control the tempo here, increasing opportunities in both directions.
Pick: Mark Williams Double Double + Trae Young Double Double (-106)
Bucks vs. Warriors
Many expected Golden State to cruise to victory against Denver on Monday night following news that Nuggets superstars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray would sit out due to injuries. However, despite closing as 12.5-point favorites, the Warriors couldn’t even win the game, let alone cover the spread. They’ll now face a quick turnaround at home in the second leg of a back-to-back against the Bucks.
Given the situational spot, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has already intimated that his best player, Stephen Curry, could miss the game after committing seven turnovers and missing 10 of 14 3-point attempts. As a result, sportsbooks adjusted the total down as low as 228.5 after it opened at 235.5.
Kerr certainly couldn’t have been pleased with his players’ performance against a shorthanded Nuggets team. And even if his star point guard doesn’t play, Kerr will still expect a better effort from the players available. Thus, I’d expect a much more spirited effort from the Warriors, which could result in a lower-scoring game.
The total is 7-4 to the under this season when Golden State is on short rest, and with my model projecting a number closer to 224 points, we can still find value at the current price.
Pick: Under 227.5 (-110)
Bucks vs. Warriors
The Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks will clash for a highly anticipated matchup on Tuesday Night. Golden State begins the contest with a record of 39-29. Steve Kerr’s team has posted the sixth-best record in the Western Conference. The Warriors have won eight of their last 10 games. Steph Curry leads the team with 24.3 points per game and 6.1 assists.
