Okay, we're buying in on the Magic!

Last night's 118-106 win over the Lakers confirmed to us that the Magic might be ready for another spread run, like in November, when they covered 12 of 21 on a particularly hot stretch. The win over the Lakers (making Orlando 2-0 vs. Los Angeles this season), along with the recent win over the Cavs, suggests a higher ceiling for the Magic when both Paolo Banchero (30 points last night) and Franz Wagner (32 on Monday) are available.

Meanwhile, Charlotte's occasional good efforts are being well outnumbered by poor showings lately, with blowout losses in four of their past five games.

Play the Magic.

Pick: Orlando Magic -4.5

I get flack for giving out moneyline picks north of -300, but if we look at them as a whole, they continue to be profitable. Finding the occasional spot to back a steep moneyline favorite can still provide value.

Here, the Knicks take on a Mavericks team playing on the second night of a back-to-back, while in New York City. Additionally, Dallas won’t have Anthony Davis, despite his return against Brooklyn in Monday night’s game.

The Knicks have an elite scoring big in Karl-Anthony Towns, who can play inside and out, which gives the Mavericks' defensive scheme trouble since they prefer to keep a big in the paint.

Matchup advantage: Knicks. Talent advantage: Knicks. Schedule spot advantage: Knicks. Home-court advantage: Knicks.

I’m risking 1 unit to bring home about 0.3 in expected profit on a Knicks win.

A great bet doesn’t always return a high amount — the Knicks are still a great bet.

Pick: New York Knicks ML

Mikal Bridges Over 16.5 Points

The Knicks face off against the Dallas Mavericks, who are playing their second game in as many days. The Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis, while the Knicks will remain without both Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride.

This opens things up for Mikal Bridges, whose scoring increases from 21.5 to 27.9 points per 100 possessions without Brunson. In fact, Bridges has cleared this prop in six of nine games without Brunson this season.

Bridges is coming off a 27-point performance against the Wizards and seems to have regained some of his rhythm. He’s seeing more looks as a primary option and relying less on spot-up scoring and creating more opportunities for himself.

He should have no trouble attacking the Mavericks defense, which has posted the fourth-worst Defensive Rating over the past 10 games.

Pick: Mikal Bridges Over 16.5 Points

How could you not want to?

The Warriors are 16-3 with Jimmy Butler since trading for him.

Meanwhile, Miami is 5-17 since dealing Butler and just snapped a 10-game losing streak.

Butler can say all he wants about this being just another game, but it’s hard not to expect him to deliver a statement performance. And given Miami’s form over the past two months, it’s equally hard to see the Heat pulling off a win.

That said, Butler has scored 20 or more points in just eight of 19 games as a Warrior.

But you understand the assignment here — as does Vegas, setting his line at 21.5.

Pick: Jimmy Butler 20+ points + Warriors Moneyline

The Golden State Warriors are playing some of their best basketball of the season following the addition of Jimmy Butler from the Heat. With Butler in the lineup, the Warriors have posted an impressive 16-3 record, and his impact has been felt immediately in multiple ways.
