Hornets vs. Wizards
By Joe Dellera
The Hornets face off against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday in a game where they are significant underdogs.
Despite Mark Williams missing out on a trade to the Lakers, he has been solid for the Hornets this season. He is averaging 15.4 ppg, and this jumped to 16.5 points in 27 games without Nick Richards who was shipped to the Suns. Over Williams' last 10 games, he is averaging 15.1 points and exceeded this 14.5 line in 5/10, but he’s had 14+ points in 8 of those games. This spot against the Pacers is a pace-up opportunity for Williams.
Additionally, the Pacers may be without Myles Turner, their best interior defender. He not only deters rim attempts, but also reduces his opponents’ shot quality from the interior as well. Considering Indiana already allows the third-most points in the paint to their opponents, his potential absence looms large when playing Mark Williams who scores a whopping 99% of his points from either at the rim or short midrange.
I’ll back Williams to score 15+ points on Wednesday night.
Pick: Mark Williams Over 14.5 Points (+100)
Heat vs. Celtics
Tyler Herro has stayed Under this number in both games against Boston this season, and will be a bigger emphasis for the Celtics' without Jimmy Butler on the roster.
Herro only has one Over in his last seven games against Boston, including last year's playoffs and this season — all were played without Butler.
He'll be Derrick White's primary responsibility, which is generally an issue, which could be significant depending on the statuses of Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday, who are both questionable to play.
Pick: Tyler Herro Under 23.5 Points (-115)
Knicks vs. Cavaliers
By Joe Dellera
The Cavaliers have been a wrecking ball this season, and they have been especially solid against the league's best teams. They are 14-6 with a +5.5 point differential. Compare this to the Knicks, who are 6-13 with a -4.9 point differential.
