The Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat will host Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans on Christmas day in the matinee game.
The Pelicans were active in the offseason, bringing new head coach Stan Van Gundy to replace Alvin Gentry and trading away franchise staple Jrue Holiday for Eric Bledsoe.
The Heat added depth to their bench via free agency (Mo Harkless and Avery Bradley) and the draft (Precious Achiuwa), but mostly doubled-down on their star Bam Adebayo with a max extension.

Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will face the Golden State Warriors in the game with two mega-stars, though the odds don't reflect it. The Bucks are the biggest favorites on the Christmas day slate and we'll quickly find out how well the Warriors compete with the top teams in the NBA.
The Warriors will be without their starting shooting guard, Klay Thompson, who will miss the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury. They did, however, trade for Kelly Oubre to try to fill the large void that Thompson left in their lineup.
The Bucks also improved their roster, adding Jrue Holiday to their backcourt and bolstering their bench with shooters and defenders (D.J. Augustin, Bryn Forbes and Torrey Craig).
Nets vs. Celtics Betting Odds

Celtics Odds | +2 [BET NOW] |

The two teams sitting behind the Bucks for top title odds in the Eastern conference meet on Christmas. The Nets will look like a completely different team with new head coach Steve Nash and star forward Kevin Durant making his return to the court.
Despite being the home team, and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in the bubble, the Celtics open as slight dogs in the matchup. Boston lost a playmaker when it executed a sign-and-trade that sent Gordon Hayward to Charlotte, but the team added much needed help up front by signing center Tristan Thompson.
Mavericks vs. Lakers Betting Odds
Mavericks Odds | +6 [BET NOW] |
Lakers Odds | -6 [BET NOW] |

Over/Under | TBA [BET NOW] |

The reigning champion Lakers get the primetime matchup against the Dallas Mavericks at Staples center. Third-year All-Star Luka Doncic will have to carry a larger offensive burden without his running mate Kristaps Porzingis, who is out until January.
The Lakers made a number of moves in the offseason, trading for sixth-man of the year runner-up Dennis Schroder and signing big men Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol. The Mavericks didn't make much of a splash in the offseason aside from trading Seth Curry for 3-and-D wing Josh Richardson.
Clippers vs. Nuggets Betting Odds

The NBA will close out the Christmas Day slate with a rematch of last season's Western Conference semifinals matchup between the Clippers and Nuggets. The Nuggets knocked the Clippers out of the postseason after coming back from a 3-1 deficit and shook up LA's staff and roster.
The Clippers lost Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers but added Serge Ibaka in free agency. Meanwhile, the Nuggets also lost some scoring depth with the departure of Jerami Grant to the Pistons.
