Methodology
Ticket Prices
- Website Source: Seatgeek.com.
- Sampling: For every NBA team, we accessed the website to find the lowest ticket price available for each month of the season. The average price per month was calculated by taking the lowest available four ticket prices and summing them up for each month, then dividing by the number of months. The prices include all additional fees.
Parking
- Website Source: Seatgeek.com website was visited to find parking options for each game.
Sampling: The lowest-priced parking tickets were identified for the nearest garage to the arena for each team.
Hats (Merch)
- Website Source: The official online stores for each NBA team were used to get the data.
- Sampling: The lowest regular price of the team’s headwear was collected.
Children Admission Policy
- The child admission policy was extracted from the dedicated policy page.
Ticket Searches
- The data was gathered in October 2024.
- The Google search numbers of the past 12 months were analyzed with Google Keywords Planner.
- For each NBA team, multiple search terms were analyzed and their results were combined (for example, for Los Angeles Clippers, the search terms “Los Angeles Clippers ticket” and “Los Angeles Clippers tickets” were analyzed and its results were combined).
- At first, the search terms were analyzed in English, followed by a translation of the terms to 125 worldwide languages — the translated terms were also analyzed and the results were combined into one monthly average search result.
- If a search term did not have sufficient searches, it was marked as no data available.
- In total, 7,500 search terms (in 125 languages) were analyzed.
