The referees have been announced for the 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.

The 12 referees are Tony Brothers, James Capers, Marc Davis, Scott Foster, John Goble, David Guthrie, Bill Kennedy, Courtney Kirkland, Kevin Scott, Josh Tiven, James Williams and Zach Zarba.

Who's working each game hasn't been released yet.

Let's dive into what that means from a betting perspective by breaking down how each referee could impact this series. All of the data is from Action Network director of research Evan Abrams.

Tony Brothers

Brothers hasn't been kind to home teams during the NBA Playoffs. Home teams are just 4-10 ATS when Brothers has officiated in the playoffs.

Brothers is the best over ref this postseason. Overs are 11-3 when Brothers is reffing. Celtics games also went over in nine of 13 games Brothers officiated this season.

The Celtics haven't had much luck with Brothers since 2019-20. The Celtics are 12-19 ATS in that span, the worst among 88 officials.

Brothers also hasn't been kind to the Mavericks. They're 3-7 ATS with Brothers this season, the worst among 74 refs.

The Mavericks were 4-0 straight-up with Capers this season while the Celtics are 3-0 straight-up with Capers this season.

Marc Davis

The Mavericks have had a lot of success under Davis. The Mavs are 7-1 straight-up and ATS this season with Davis officiating. They're 13-4 straight-up over the last three seasons.

Foster has been harsh on Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd in his career. Kidd is 16-25 ATS with Foster, the second-worst among 103 refs.

John Goble

Road teams love Goble. Road teams are 5-2 straight-up with Goble this postseason. Of the 12 referees, Goble is the most profitable for road teams on the moneyline in the postseason.

Kidd may have taken a liking to Goble as Kidd has a 32-13 ATS record with Goble as a referee, the best of 103 refs with Kidd in his coaching career.

Goble officiated a Mavericks vs. Celtics game in 2022 with the Mavs winning on the road.

The Mavericks also love Scott. The Mavs were 10-1 this season with Scott officiating and 9-2 ATS. They were 5-0 straight-up with Scott at home.

Josh Tiven

Bet the under if Tiven is officiating. The under is 48-26-1 with Tiven this season, which is the best of 80 refs.

The under is also 53-36 with Tiven in the playoffs, which is the best of 74 refs.

Tiven officiated a Celtics vs. Mavericks game this season with Boston winning on the road.

James Williams

Celtics unders are 7-2 this season with Williams officiating, that's the best of any ref in Celtics games.

The under is 10-5 in Celtics games with Joe Mazzulla coaching and Williams officiating.

Zach Zarba

The over is the move with Zarba. The over is 87-67-1 in the playoffs with Zarba, which is the best of 74 refs.

Both teams had success with Zarba this season. The Mavs went 5-1 with Zarba and the Celtics also went 5-1 with Zarba.
