The Miami Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday evening for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.
Bam Adebayo (58% opening tip win rate) will take on Brook Lopez (67% win rate) for the opening tip. Adebayo has won five of seven opening tipoffs versus Lopez this season, including the first three of this series.
Adebayo (hamstring) is probable and Jimmy Butler (glute) is questionable for Miami. Giannis Antetokounmpo (back) is questionable for Milwaukee. Given that Miami has a one-game lead in the series, it seems unlikely that any of these players will be sidelined.
Despite winning the tip frequently, the Heat were one of the worst teams in the league at scoring first this season — they had the opening score in 39% of games.
In the seven games between these teams this season, the Bucks scored first in six of them. Brook Lopez (twice), Pat Connaughton, Grayson Allen, Jrue Holiday and Antetokounmpo have all cashed first-basket tickets versus the Heat.
I like Holiday to score first in this one. I'm assuming Antetokounmpo plays, and if that's the case, the Heat defense will likely be focused on him.
I think that gives Khris Middleton a shot to be open for a first basket as well.
