NBA Injury News & Starting Lineups (Feb. 4): Trae Young, Ben Simmons Ruled Out Thursday article feature image

Thursday's NBA Injury News

6:15 p.m. ET Update: Ben Simmons has been ruled out Thursday, despite previously being considered probable with a tight calf.


6 p.m. ET Update: Trae Young has been ruled out of the Atlanta Hawks matchup with the Utah Jazz Thursday with a calf contusion. Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed Porzingis will play Thursday against the Golden State Warriors on the second leg of a back-to-back. Eric Paschall is out for the Warriors with a sore knee.


2 p.m. ET Update: Damian Lillard will sit out Thursday's game with a sore abdominal and Derrick Jones Jr is out with an injured foot. Victor Oladipo is officially out and will rest on the second night of a back-to-back.


The Portland Trail Blazers are monitoring Damian Lillard ahead of their road matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers. Lillard is nursing an abdominal strain  and is listed as questionable for Thursday's action. The Blazers have also listed Derrick Jone Jr. questionable with a sprained foot.

The Warriors' frontcourt depth took another hit, this time it's Kevon Looney who will be out for extended time with a sprained ankle. Looney is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks and are still missing rookie James Wiseman who had moved to a bench role.

The Dallas Mavericks are expected to rest Kristaps Porzingis on the second night of their back-to-back set after he played on the front end. The Houston Rockets are also expected to rest Victor Oladipo against the Memphis Grizzlies on the second night of their back-to-back set.
