Sunday NBA Injury News
2:05 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves with a calf contusion. On the other side of that matchup, Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to play through the wrist injury he suffered in Saturday's win over the Utah Jazz.
1:47 p.m. ET update: According to our Labs Insiders tool, Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will sit in Sunday's home matchup with the Dallas Mavericks after suffering a mouth laceration on Christmas night that required stitches.
12:20 p.m. ET update: Golden State Warriors forward Marquese Chriss diagnosed with a broken right fibula, and he will miss the rest of the season. Draymond Green was already close to returning for the Warriors on Sunday, but Chriss' injury could increase the possibility and need for more size in their frontcourt rotation.
9 a.m. ET: The Golden State Warriors have some potentially good news for a change after a rough start to their season. All-Star big man Draymond Green appears to be inching closer to a return and could make his debut Sunday on the road against the Chicago Bulls.
Per our NBA Insiders tool:
Green practiced Saturday and appears on track to make his season debut on Sunday, although he is officially listed questionable. He missed the first two games of the regular season and the entire preseason due to a sore right foot. Coach Kerr has utilized an extended rotation to start the season as the Warriors have failed to reach triple digits on both losses.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard is questionable to play Sunday in an early game against the Dallas Mavericks, with 12:30 p.m. local tip. Leonard was accidentally struck in the mouth by teammate Serge Ibaka during the Clippers' Christmas day game and needed eight stitches.
Tonight's late game has two question marks from star players: Karl-Anthony Towns due to a wrist injury and Anthony Davis due to a sore calf.
