Monday's NBA Injury News
1:50 p.m. ET Update: James Harden has been cleared to play Monday after sitting out the Rockets' last game with an ankle sprain. Luka Doncic has been upgraded to probable with a quad injury for that game as well.
The Boston Celtics will lose some guard depth in their game with the Toronto Raptors after Jeff Teague was ruled out with an ankle sprain and Marcus Smart is questionable with a thumb injury.
Blake Griffin and Josh Jackson have both been ruled out of Monday's matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks — the largest spread on the slate.
The key injury news to watch Monday comes from two stars in the same game. James Harden and Luka Doncic both sat out their team's most recent games and are questionable to suit up tonight.
Per our NBA Insiders:
The Rockets will list Harden as questionable for Monday's contest due to a sprained right ankle that forced Harden to be a late scratch prior to Saturday's win. Coach Silas didn't have an update on Harden during media availability other than to say Harden got up some shots at practice and will continue to undergo treatment.
The Dallas Mavericks ruled Doncic out on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls with an injured quad and the Mavericks play the second game of a road back-to-back tonight.
In the East, a matchup of two teams who have been surprisingly good early this season, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic, will be impacted by injuries to key players on both sides. Darius Garland and rookie Isaac Okoro are questionable to play for the Cavs — Garland hurt his shoulder Friday and Okoro missed the past three games with a foot injury.
The Magic are hoping for Evan Fournier to return as he nurses back spasms and for James Ennis to test a sore hamstring that has kept him sidelined so far this season.
