Dec. 1 Update: No surprise at the top of the odds board as back-to-back NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (+350) is the favorite entering training camps this month. Just behind the Greek Freak is third-year point-forward and All-Star Luka Doncic (+450), who took a huge leap in his second season and led the Dallas Mavericks to the playoffs for the first time in three years.

If Doncic were to win the award, he would be the youngest winner in NBA history, edging out former MVP Derrick Rose by a two months.

Three former winners, Stephen Curry (+600), LeBron James (+700) and James Harden (+800) round out the top five names on the board.

However, each of those three players have difficult paths to MVP — James will be 36 years old and in his 18th season, Curry will carry a heavy load without Klay Thompson this season and Harden had the cloud of trade rumors surrounding himself and Russell Westbrook.

Two other names to keep an eye on: Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum both listed at 14-1. Durant will make his return to the court after an Achilles injury kept him out all of last season. Tatum led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals, was named an All-Star and made third-team All-NBA in his third season.
