Celtics vs Knicks, 8:30 p.m. ET

These two teams have a lot of history with one another. Tonight will be the 496th head-to-head matchup between these two franchises. Boston has dominated the all-time series 305-190.

The Celtics have had the Knicks number lately, winning four of the last five meetings. Joe Muzzilas's team enters this contest with a record of 30-16. That record is the second-best in the Eastern Conference, as Boston trails the first-place Cleveland Cavaliers by six games.

The Celtics entered the season as the betting favorite to win the NBA finals and remain the betting favorite (+240). The Cs won their first Championship since 2008 last season by taking down Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

Few teams in the NBA can match the talent on this Boston roster. Boston has won seven of their last 10 games. The Celtics support the best road record in the NBA (20-6).

Former Duke standout Jayson Tatum leads the team with 26.6 points per game, 8.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Jaylen Brown has enjoyed one of his best years, with 23.2 points per game and 6.1 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis has added 19.1 points and 7.0 rebounds. Boston has averaged 117.3 points per game.

New York begins this matchup with a record of 34-17. The expectations were high for this Knicks team entering the season. In the offseason, New York added all-star Karl Anthony Towns and one of the best defenders in the NBA, Mikal Bridges.

Last year, the Knicks team returned a winning culture to the Big Apple. The Knicks have won two playoff series since 2014. Unfortunately for New York, their season ended in the conference semi-finals in a seven-game series against the Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks are currently the third seed in the East, trailing the Celtics by 1.5 games. Tonight would be one of the best wins of the season for New York. The Knicks have been hot lately, winning eight of their last 10 games.

Jalen Brunson leads the Knicks with 26.1 points per game and 7.5 assists. Karl Anthony Towns has averaged 24.3 points per game and a team-best 13.6 rebounds. Mikal Bridges has added 18.2 points and 3.3 assists. New York has averaged 117.9 points per game.

We will take an alternate spread and ride with the home team tonight. New York will likely win this game outright, as it is one of the best home teams in basketball. The close back-and-forth game will keep the Knicks inside this number.
