NBA Player Prop Bet for Sunday, April 27
- Malik Beasley Over 13.5 Points (-115, BetMGM)
I'm not off of it. I'm not.
Malik Beasley has gone under in two straight, but this is more of a buy-low spot than a fade spot to me.
Beasley has shot 6-for-23 from the field, including 3-for-18 from three, across his last two showings, but that's not a representative sample of who he is. He's going to hit shots again at some point, as he did in Game 1, where he hit 6-for-12 from three en route to a near victory before a Pistons fourth quarter collapse.
Given the season Beasley's had, the last two outings were outlier showings. From a points perspective, he began breaking out of his slump late in Game 3, scoring seven points in the fourth quarter — in which he played five minutes — by shooting 3-for-5 from the field and making a three in three attempts.
Beasley is still the second-preferred source of Pistons offense, well behind the team's No. 1 in Cade Cunningham, averaging 13 field goal attempts per game, earning an additional six free throws in the three games, hitting 100 percent of them.
If he flops again, then I'll pass on him for Game 4, but I'm not shaking the feeling that Beasley still has at least one more significant shooting performance in this series. The Pistons are still generating open threes against the Knicks' defense, and as a team, they're 37-for-96 from deep, hitting 38.5 percent, much better than the Knicks' 32-for-93 display at 34 percent.
Beasley has had 20, 9 and 12 in this series, and for today, I'll take him over 13.5 points today, and would play to over 14.5 (or to score 15+) in what may be a bounce-back showing for the sharpshooting sixth man.
One thing's for sure, the volume should be there again. If he misses almost everything again, it is what it is.
Pick: Malik Beasley Over 13.5 Points (-115)
