Tonight features a two-game slate with a bit of injury news to some key superstars. The two players I selected below should be in the lineup and are in fantastic spots tonight. Since I only provided two props, both were juiced up.
As always we're using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the prop bets posted at a variety of sportsbooks.
Let's get right into tonight's props.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Kyrie Irving, Over 3.5 Made 3-Pointers (+125)
Heat vs. Nets | Nets -3.5 |
Time | TV | 8 p.m. ET | NBA TV |
Best Book | BetMGM |
The Nets have been climbing the standings ever since Kyrie Irving came back into the mix, along with the departure of James Harden. They are 3.5-point road favorites against a tough Heat team that leads the Eastern conference.
Even though Irving has played in four games since March 8, he has been electric during that time. The Nets have gone 3-1 over that stretch with Irving averaging 43.8 points while shooting 60.1% from the field and 60.9% from behind the arc. Irving has made seven 3-pointers per game in those games.
The Nets are getting a little bit healthier with Seth Curry and Goran Dragic able to play tonight, but Irving still has a 34.1% usage rate in his last four games. Every game Irving has attempted at minimum 11 3-pointers per game. That will provide so many opportunities for Irving to torch the nets tonight.
The Heat are a difficult matchup, but they do struggle guarding the 3-point line. They allow the fourth-most 3-point attempts per game this season. They have also tied for allowing the fifth-most made 3-pointers per game. They have several players questionable tonight, including Jimmy Butler who prides himself in his defense. Irving should be able to get many looks from distance.
This is a prop that we already have juice on the over 3.5 3-pointers made, but I would love to take this even higher at alternative lines. You can get as aggressive as you would like. I would take this up to over 5.5 3-pointers made.
Tyus Jones, Over 6.5 Assists (+110)
Bucks vs. Grizzlies | Grizzlies -2 |
Time | TV | 8 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass |
Best Book | DraftKings |
The Grizzlies have built a comfortable lead as the second seed in the Western Conference despite playing recently without their star Ja Morant. They are even slightly favored tonight against the reigning champion Bucks team.
We know the deal by now. With Morant out, get exposure to Tyus Jones. It is as simple as that. Jones has started four of the Grizzlies last five games. During those starts, he is averaging 12 points and 8.3 assists. He is very consistent when he is in the starting lineup filling in for Morant the past two seasons.
The best part about this play is this game is projected to be close. Jones has lost several minutes as the Grizzlies have won those four games by an average of 24.8 points. The one relatively close game that ended in a 12-point victory, Jones finished with 35 minutes. He has quite a bit of upside in this matchup.
If you need a larger sample size, Jones is averaging 12.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 30.3 minutes per game in the 18 games that he has played without Morant this season. Seven assists is quite a lot to get, but this matchup should be great for Jones to rack up assists. The Bucks allow the eighth-most assists per game.
More specifically, Jones can rack up assists just simply by hitting the open man who is behind the perimeter. The Bucks allow the most 3-pointers made and attempted this season.
There should be plenty of open looks for the Grizzlies players that can be hand fed by Jones most of the night. Keep this prop line right where it is and take the juice on it. Jones will have many opportunities.
