Tonight's NBA slate has eight games, but I am covering the two during the main slate that starts at 6 p.m. ET. Since I only covered two props, I made sure there was some juice attached to them.
As always, we're using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the props posted at a variety of sportsbooks. After winning two of our three props last night, let's see if we can build on that to finish the weekend off strong.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Wendell Carter Jr., Over 10.5 Rebounds (+110)
Magic vs. Celtics | Celtics -9.5 |
Time | TV | 6 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass |
Best Book | DraftKings |
The Orlando Magic have the worst record in the league at 12-42, but have won four of their past seven games as they are finally getting healthy again. Of course, I say that and Mo Bamba is now listed as questionable. However, the midday downgrade of his status may add value to this prop for Carter Jr.
Carter Jr. has been fantastic over his last five games, averaging 15.6 points and 12.2 rebounds. Carter Jr. has surpassed 11 or more rebounds in three of those five games. In seven games without Bamba this season, Carter Jr. is averaging 10.9 rebounds per game.
For the season, Carter Jr. is averaging career-highs in both points with 13.6 and rebounds with 10.3 per game. The tough part that limits the upside with the Magic players is that when they lose, they usually get blown out resulting in very limited playing time. This spread is a little scary, but with how well the Magic have been playing lately and their health, I think they compete at home.
The matchup against the Celtics will be a pretty boring one as they rank 24th in Pace this season and allow only 104.4 points per game. Luckily we just need the rebounds to go Carter Jr.'s way and don't care if he can't score enough points. The Celtics are an average to below-average rebounding team this season. They rank in the middle of the pack in every rebounding statistic.
Our model has Carter Jr. projected for 11.7 rebounds tonight, which is a ton. That provides value on this prop at 10.5 rebounds. There are a few 9.5 rebound props for Carter Jr., but I love the value we get on over 10.5 rebounds.
Isaac Okoro, Over 3.5 Rebounds (+125)
Cavaliers vs. Pacers | Cavaliers -6 |
Time | TV | 6 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass |
Best Book | PointsBet |
The Cavaliers continue to shock the basketball world as they dominate teams defensively night in and night out. They have won 10 of their past 13 games and are six-point home favorites against the struggling Pacers. The Pacers may get Malcolm Brogdon back from injury today, which would help keep this close.
Darius Garland and Lauri Markkanen are also listed as questionable from the Cavaliers side. Those two will impact a few of the Cavaliers players, but should not effect our prop player with Isaac Okoro who has an extremely low usage rate and will likely play heavy minutes regardless of their status tonight.
The second juice prop we are going to take is Okoro over 3.5 rebounds. Okoro has failed to get four or more rebounds in five-straight games, but our model has him projected to get 3.7 tonight so there is value with this prop.
This matchup against the Pacers is one that opposing teams have taken advantage of. They rank 26th in Defensive Rating this season and are missing Myles Turner who is one of the best shot blocking centers in the league and can be a monster on the glass. This game total is only set for 217 points so this should be a slug fest of two teams who won't score many points tonight.
Make sure to shop around for the best value, but that is on PointsBet for this rebounds prop. Other books are offering 2.5 rebounds for Okoro, which I will gladly take, but I love the juice on 3.5 rebounds tonight in this great matchup.
