The Cleveland Cavaliers face the Brooklyn Nets for a second straight time this week. The Cavs will certainly have plenty of motivation as they look to win the season series — currently tied 1-1 — and further establish home-court advantage in the playoffs.
Caris LeVert's season has been filled with ups and downs as he's needed to adjust playing alongside Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. As of late, however, it appears LeVert has found his rhythm.
Now operating in more of a catch-and-shoot role off the bench, LeVert looks comfortable; he's in the midst of his best shooting stretch, averaging 18.3 points on 32.4 minutes per game over his last six. Compared to his averages of 6.8 points per game on 40.7% shooting in February, the 28-year-old has learned to play off the ball, scoring 15-plus in six straight contests.
Regression is bound to happen — LeVert's shooting 54.3% from the field and 51.4% (19-for-37) from 3-point range, but overall, he is a very streaky, so I'll gladly ride the wave.
As for the matchup against Brooklyn, LeVert should have extra motivation facing his former team. LeVert scored 18 points in his last game versus the Nets and played the whole fourth quarter despite coming off the bench.
LeVert should also benefit from open looks as Mitchell deals with Mikal Bridges' defensive prowess (+0.4 defensive plus-minus).
With that in mind, I have the Michigan product continuing his hot stretch, which makes me love his chances of going over his points prop.
Pick: Caris LeVert Over 11.5 Points |
