Bucks PG Eric Bledsoe
THE PICK: Over 15.5 Points (-114)
Bledsoe's point totals in four games against the Pistons during the regular season were 27, 17, 18, 20, and then he missed this prop by 0.5 points in Game 1 — a game where he played only 25 minutes.
Bledsoe has absolutely cooked the Pistons this year, shooting 52.9% from the field and 42.1% from deep. On top of that, he's wasted almost no possessions, turning it over just twice in 146 minutes of action.
For the season, he' averaging 19.4 points in 29.4 minutes per game against Detroit, which I think is a fair expectation for tonight. I'd bet the over up to 17.5 at standard juice.
Jazz C Rudy Gobert
THE PICK: Under 16.5 Points (-114)
Gobert is coming a 22-point performance in Game 1, but it took an 8-of-10 shooting night from the field, 6-of-6 from the line, and 6 points on put-backs — all of which are likely to revert back the norm.
Prior to Game 1, the Stifle Tower had failed to score 17-plus in 57.5% of his road games, and being that the Jazz are 6.5-point underdogs, it's also worth noting he's averaging only 14.3 points per game in losses.
As Bryan Mears talks about in our Rockets-Jazz Game 2 preview, Houston is the rare team that can actually turn Gobert into a defensive liability, so it's also possible he doesn't see 34 minutes this time.
Given Gobert's rate of producing games of 17 or more points, this should have value up to -127.
I usually throw a few more prop picks in the Action Network App throughout the night as I do more research and lineup news trickles in, so be sure to follow me there, as well.
