We have two NBA player props for tonight's relatively light 4-game slate, and we're focused on some key players who could be in line for big (or underwhelming) performances to tip off the weekend.
Jazz vs. Spurs will set the stage at 5 p.m. ET, and one of our experts is locked in on Utah forward Cody Williams. Our second NBA prop bet of the day comes from Nets vs. Cavaliers, which is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET, and we will also be taking a look at Cleveland center Evan Mobley.
NBA Player Prop Picks Tonight
- Cody Williams Under 12.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-120, DraftKings)
- Evan Mobley Over 27.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-115, Caesars)
Jazz vs Spurs NBA Player Prop Pick
I'm 2-for-2 on this prop so far this season. Cody Williams continues to struggle to make an impact for Utah. With the Jazz getting healthier, I'm expecting his opportunities to remain limited.
Williams is 12th on the team un usage rate at 12.4%. He ranks 9th in rebounding rate and 11th in assist rate. Lauri Markkanen is back in the lineup for the Jazz, which is bad news for Williams. His usage rate (-2.5%), rebounding rate (-1.1%), and assist rate (-6.3%) all drop with Markkanen on the floor.
San Antonio has emerged as a challenging matchup early in the season. The Spurs are 10th in defensive rating and 4th in points allowed per game, while also playing at the 4th-slowest pace.
Pick: Cody Williams Under 12.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists
Nets vs. Cavaliers NBA Player Prop Pick
By Nick Galaida
Evan Mobley had 31 points + rebounds + assists last night in only 26 minutes, making it his 10th consecutive game with 25+ PRA to open the new campaign for Cleveland. Despite averaging fewer than 30 minutes per game this season, primarily due to a number of blowout game scripts, Mobley is averaging a career-high 17.9 points and a career-high 13.4 field goal attempts per game.
Tonight, he gets another favorable matchup against a Nets' defense that ranks 24th in opponent field goal attempts, 22nd in opponent field goal percentage, 29th in opponent free throws attempted, 24th in opponent rebounds per game, and 25th in opponent assists per game against opposing forwards this year.
Mobley has played 32 minutes in each of his first two back-to-back scenarios this season, so there is hope that he could potentially see an expanded workload if this game remains somewhat competitive.
Pick: Evan Mobley Over 27.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists
