We have three NBA player props for Sunday's jam packed 11-game slate, and we're focused on a trio of key players who could be in line for big (or underwhelming) performances to close the weekend.
Rockets vs. Pistons will set the stage at 3 p.m. ET, and one of our experts is locked in on Houston guard Fred VanVleet. Our second prop pick of the day comes from Knicks vs. Pacers, which is set to begin at 5 p.m. ET, so we will also be taking a look at New York guard Jalen Brunson. The third and final player prop on out experts' betting card is for Wizards vs. Magic, with tipoff set for 6 p.m. ET.
Continue below for our NBA picks for Sunday, November 10.
NBA Player Props Sunday
- Fred VanVleet Under 26.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-113, Caesars)
- Jalen Brunson Under 7.5 Assists (-148, DraftKings)
- Jordan Poole Under 5.5 Assists (-123, Caesars)
Rockets vs Pistons Player Prop Pick
Fred VanVleet spiked a big game against San Antonio on Wednesday, but he went right back to minimal contributions on Friday against Oklahoma City. He continues to take a backseat to Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun in the Rockets' offense.
VanVleet has just a 17.1% usage rate, which is the lowest mark of his career. It's a 2.3% decline from his first year in Houston. VanVleet has posted a career-low rebound rate and his worst assist rate since 2017-18. His shooting has bounced back, but the 12.4 shots per game are his fewest since 2018-19.
Detroit is a mediocre matchup. They rank 14th in defensive rating and 12th in points allowed per game. The Pistons are 22nd in pace. Point guards have struggled to contribute peripheral stats against Detroit so far. They've held PGs to the 3rd-fewest rebounds and the 4th-fewest assists per game.
Pick: Fred VanVleet Under 26.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-113)
Knicks vs Pacers Player Prop Pick
By Allan Lem
Jalen Brunson has surpassed this 7.5 assist number in three of eight games for the Knicks this season, including his most recent outing. But for the season, he's averaging just 6.1 assists on 10.9 potential assists. Additionally, this isn't the best matchup, as the Pacers have allowed the 3rd-fewest assists per game this season at 23.4. This isn't a fluke either, as the Pacers allowed the 4th-fewest assists per game last season.
The Pacers do have several key rotation players listed questionable as of this writing in Andrew Nembhard, TJ McConnell, and Obi Toppin, so there are some concerns as to whether the Pacers will be fully healthy, which could impact their overall team defense. Despite the injuries on the Indiana side, this is a number I am willing to take now, as I do believe the Pacers have done a good job of systemically limiting assists.
For those box score hunting, the Pacers held Brunson to 5 assists earlier this season. Last season, he had assist totals of 6, 1, and 4 in the regular season against them, and then 6, 5, 6, 5, 7, 5, and 9 against Indiana in the playoffs.
Pick: Jalen Brunson Under 7.5 Assists (-148)
Wizards vs Magic Player Prop Pick
The Wizards have turned over primary playmaking duties to rookie Bub Carrington. He's posted 8+ assists in three straight games and relegated Poole to a more scoring-focused role. Poole led the team with 6 assists on 15.3 potential assists and 44.3 passes in October.
Since the calendar flipped to November, Poole is down to 2.3 assists on 7 potential assists and 33 passes. Washington was cautious with Carrington's minutes early on, but he's now played 33+ in four straight games.
The Magic held opponents to the fewest assists per game last season. They allowed the 4th-lowest assisted field goal rate. The Magic have slid to 7th in assists allowed per game this year, which is still solid. They're 3rd in both defensive rating and points allowed per game.
Pick: Jordan Poole Under 5.5 Assists (-123)
