Cavaliers vs. Celtics
By Joe Dellera
Jayson Tatum and the Celtics face off against the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers. You can check my full game analysis here.
I expect Tatum to thrive on the glass. He has recorded double-digit boards in nine of his past 10 games against the Cavaliers, averaging 10.9 rebounds per game.
There will be minutes where Cleveland runs Mobley at the five, and given the switchability there, that will open up even more rebound opportunities for Tatum.
While we would expect Cleveland to be an elite rebounding team, the Cavaliers are just middle of the pack in terms of Rebound Percentage. While the raw totals are lower, Tatum is the clear rebound leader for the Celtics, even with Neemias Queta seeing some extended run.
I will grab Tatum to exceed 8.5 rebounds and play some 10+ (+160 Bet365).
Pick: Jayson Tatum Over 8.5 Rebounds
Pelicans vs. Mavericks
New Orleans' laundry list of injuries has thrust Brandon Boston Jr. into a lead ball-handling role. He's one of the few healthy guards on the roster and is making the most of the increased playing time.
Boston has played 30+ minutes in eight straight games and has averaged five assists on 8.4 potential assists in that stretch. Boston ranks behind only Brandon Ingram in both categories. He leads the team with 61.3 passes per game. In the three games since point guard Jose Alvarado went down, Boston is up to 66 passes and nine potential assists per game.
Dallas is eighth in defensive rating and points allowed per game. However, the Mavericks a solid matchup for assists. The Mavericks allow the ninth-most assists per game and the fourth-highest assisted field goal rate. When New Orleans scores, there's a good chance it comes with an assist.
Boston has 4+ assists in all but one game since he began playing 30+ minutes per night. He has also been blowout-proof — still earning those minutes despite four losses by 15+ points.
