NBA Player Props for Saturday, February 1
- Bam Adebayo Over 10.5 Rebounds (-120)
The emergence of Kel'el Ware has had a major impact up and down the Heat roster. One notable change has been a bump in rebounding for Adebayo. Ware joining the starting lineup has pushed Adebayo to power forward, which has meant easier matchups and increased production on the glass.
Ware actually had his breakout game against this Spurs squad a couple weeks back, playing 34 minutes off the bench and scoring 25 points.
He's been locked into the starting lineup ever since. Adebayo has seen a hefty 4.4% rebounding rate boost with Ware on the floor. He's averaged 11.7 rebounds on 17.2 rebound chances in the 6-game stretch since Ware became a fixture in the rotation.
Power forward is the ideal way to attack San Antonio on the glass. I hit on Giannis Antetokounmpo in this matchup last night, and I'm going right back to it. The Spurs have allowed the 5th-most rebounds per game to power forwards.
They've been unsurprisingly tough on centers, limiting them to the 7th-fewest rebounds per game. Tangling with Victor Wembanyama is a tough task, and Ware will likely be the one to draw the assignment.
San Antonio is 21st in rebounding rate this month. Only the Wizards are allowing more rebounds per game. Adebayo grabbed 11 rebounds when these teams faced off in the aforementioned Ware breakout game. He did it in just 25 minutes, as the game got out of hand.
The Spurs are on a back-to-back but are slight favorites, so this game should remain competitive.
Pick: Bam Adebayo Over 10.5 Rebounds (-120)
