NBA Player Props for Thursday, Nov. 21
Pistons vs. Hornets Player Prop Pick
This was a frequent ScoresAndOdds pick early in the season. Tim Hardaway Jr. then got a nice bump from Jalen Duren's injury, before missing some time himself. Both players are back in the lineup tonight, so we can confidently go back to fading Hardaway on the glass.
Hardaway opened the season with a total of seven rebounds in eight games. Duren, the team's leading rebounder, left in the first quarter against this Charlotte squad on November 6. Hardaway averaged 4 rebounds over a 3-game span without Duren, including the game against the Hornets.
In the Pistons' two games he's played since Duren returned, Hardaway has totaled only two rebounds. For the season, he ranks 11th on the team in rebounds and rebound chances.
Fellow shooters Malik Beasley and Simone Fontecchio are both healthy, which should cap Hardaway's playing time at 28-30 minutes. He'll be facing a Charlotte team that ranks 6th in rebounding rate and 5th in rebounds allowed per game.
Pick: Tim Hardaway Under 2.5 Rebounds
Jazz vs. Spurs Player Prop Pick
This would be a fair number under normal circumstances. Harrison Barnes is averaging 4.1 rebounds on 7.8 rebound chances this season. The matchup is mediocre. The key is that San Antonio will be without their top two rebounders and could possibly be missing a third one.
Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan lead the team in rebounds and rebound chances, but both have been ruled out tonight. Zach Collins has replaced Wembanyama in the starting lineup and taken over a big rebounding role. He's questionable tonight.
Barnes has seen a 2.5% rebounding rate increase with Wembanyama and Sochan off the floor. He's averaged 5.5 rebounds on 11.5 rebound chances since they've both been sidelined. Barnes should be among San Antonio's top rebounders tonight against Utah, and he'd get an additional boost if Collins is ruled out.
Pick: Harrison Barnes Over 3.5 Rebounds (-113)
