We have three NBA player props for Tuesday as our staff of basketball betting experts is focused on some key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in today's contests.
Read below for our NBA player prop picks for Norman Powell, Daniel Gafford and Ivica Zubac.
NBA Player Props for Tuesday
- Norman Powell Over 22.5 Points
- Daniel Gafford Over 8.5 Rebounds
- Ivica Zubac Over 14.5 Points
The blowout is a slight worry here with how bad the Lakers lineup is without Luka Doncic, but they were already a below-average defensive team prior to the Anthony Davis trade, and now they will be worse.
Powell's usage has slowed slightly with Kawhi Leonard in the lineup, but he's still scored 22+ points in each of the past six games he's played with Leonard and is averaging 25.6 points per game in those games. Considering the good matchup, this line is a couple of points too low.
Pick: Norman Powell Over 22.5 Points (-105)
I'm just betting on winning a half-unit here. There's plenty of uncertainty on both sides, but Gafford appears to be in an excellent spot now that PJ Washington has been ruled out.
Philadelphia hasn't improved on the glass with Joel Embiid on the floor. Their opponent's rebounding rate has actually gone up by 0.4% in Embiid's 383 minutes this season. They're last in rebounding rate this season, and his potential return won't fix everything.
Gafford is second on the team in rebound chances at 15.0 per game this season. His production has been muted by sharing the center minutes with Dereck Lively. With his counterpart out, Gafford has taken off. He's averaging 9.9 rebounds on 20.6 rebound chances in the 11 games since Lively went down. Lively, Washington, and Luka Doncic lead Dallas in rebounds this season. With Doncic gone, Gafford is far and away the team leader among the available players.
Pick: Daniel Gafford Over 8.5 Rebounds (-141)
Zubac is having a breakout offensive season, averaging career-highs in scoring, shots and minutes. His 18.5% usage rate is the highest it's been during his Clippers tenure. Zubac is averaging 15.3 points per game and gets a tremendous matchup tonight.
The Lakers allow the fourth-most points in the paint per game. Anthony Davis was their lone rim protector, and he's been dealt to Dallas. That leaves Jaxson Hayes, Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Koloko as the only options to deal with Zubac. Even with Davis, LA allowed the 10th-most shot attempts from within five feet. Zubac is top 10 in the league in shots per game from that area. He's scoring a career-high 87.6% of his points from in the paint.
Kawhi Leonard's increasing workload might be dragging down this line, but his presence has hardly affected Zubac. His usage has ticked down slightly (-0.2%) when Leonard has been on the floor, but Zubac has seen an extra 0.5 shots per 36 minutes in those situations. He has also shot the ball much better when Leonard is in the game (+7.7% FG%). The sample size isn't huge, so I wouldn't argue Leonard's presence is a bump for Zubac, but it doesn't seem like a major deterrent. If anything, it's neutral. Maybe fewer shots in the long run, but cleaner looks.
Zubac scored 21 points and 19 rebounds with Davis on the Lakers a few weeks back. He's in good shape for another big game.
Pick: Ivica Zubac Over 14.5 Points (-105)
