Rockets vs 76ers Player Prop Pick
By Grant Neiffer
With no Joel Embiid or Paul George in this spot, this line is far too low for Tyrese Maxey, who has seen his minutes increase in each of the past two games. He should play low- to mid-30s minutes in this spot.
The matchup is a below average one vs. the Rockets, but that doesn't really matter with Maxey and Jared McCain eating up all the usage. I have Maxey projected for 30 points and would hit this line all the way up to 24.5 at +100 at FanDuel.
Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 22.5 Points
Rockets vs 76ers Player Props
By Charlie Wright
FanDuel is taking a stand as most of the other books are at 31.5. So, I'll gladly jump on this under.
There's a lot working against Tyrese Maxey here. He takes an assist rate hit with Joel Embiid off the floor and his usage is down 2.3% when playing alongside Jared McCain. Maxey has also yet to exceed 30 minutes since returning from a hamstring injury and then there's the matchup.
Houston might be the most difficult test in the league for all-around contributions. The Rockets are second in defensive rating, just 0.6 behind Oklahoma City. They have allowed the third-fewest points per game and are second in rebounding rate. They've also held opponents to the fewest assists per game and the lowest assisted field goal rate.
Houston just doesn't give up stats.
RotoGrinders has Maxey projected for 32 minutes, which seems fair. This is a tough spot to put up a stat per minute, and that's what he'll need to do to exceed this line.
Pick: Tyrese Maxey Under 33.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
Pistons vs Grizzlies Player Props
By Charlie Wright
I'm betting to win a half unit here. Tobias Harris is questionable, and Tim Hardaway gets a 0.6% rebounding rate boost with him off the floor. The sample size is only 51 minutes, though. The bigger factor is the potential for a few extra minutes of playing time. I'm still on board with this pick if Harris sits, I'd just not like it as much.
Hardaway had two rebounds in his most recent game, his highest total in more than two weeks. He now has 13 rebounds in the 13 games he's played with Jalen Duren, Detroit's leading rebounder. Hardaway slipped to 11th on the team in rebounds and 12th in rebound chances after Monday's game.
Memphis leads the league in rebounding rate. The Grizzlies are only 12th in rebounds allowed per game due to their pace, which is still solid. This is on the tougher side of rebounding matchups.
Pick: Tim Hardaway Under 2.5 Rebounds
Thunder vs Warriors Player Props
By Charlie Wright
Isaiah Hartenstein has dominated on the glass since returning to the lineup. He's averaged 12 rebounds on 18 rebound chances in his past two games. Hartenstein is clearly the top rebounder for the Thunder with Chet Holmgren sidelined, and he should feast in this matchup.
Golden State is 10th in rebounding rate, but the Warriors' top-five pace leads to tons of boards. They have allowed the third-most rebounds per game and have given up the most rebounds per game to centers.
Hartenstein hasn't been limited since coming back, playing 29 and 32 minutes. This game has a tight spread, so Hartenstein should get 30+ minutes.
Pick: Isaiah Hartenstein Over 9.5 Rebounds
