A light slate on the NBA card for Thursday evening with just three games and six teams in action tonight.
The Toronto Raptors play the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. ET in the only East Coast game of the night. And then the two late games are the ones bettors have their eyes on for the top props of the night: IndianaPacers at UtahJazz at 9:30 p.m. ET and Miami Heat at Los Angeles Clippers
But a light slate means bettors have had even more time to handicap the games and get a closer look at some of the best player props for tonight.
Here are the top three props bettors are eyeing in tonight’s NBA slate according to a PointsBet spokesperson.
Most Popular NBA Player Props for Thursday
- Donovan Mitchell over 26.5 points
- Paul George over 26.5 points
- Rudy Gobert over 13.5 rebounds
Mitchell has gone over the 26.5 point total in six of his 10 games so far this season. And he’s hit the total in four of his last five games including 36 and 37 point performances against the Kings and Heat.
The Pacers rank 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating and 25th in opponent field goal percentage from 25-29 feet out. Mitchell ranks third in the NBA in field goal attempts from 25-29 feet out. In layman's terms, the Pacers perimeter defense has been especially poor this season and that’s where Mitchell likes to live.
Gobert has gone over the 13.5 rebound total in all but two of his 11 games so far this season and in some games smashed it with 20-plus rebound performances. He currently leads the NBA in rebounds per game with 15.9.
He will go up against Domantas Sabonis on Thursday night who is sixth in the NBA in rebounds per game with 11.6.
The Heat are in the midst of a five-game West Coast road trip and playing their second game in as many nights in Los Angeles.
George has gone over the 26.5 point total five times in 10 games this season but he hasn’t topped it in his past three games. Heat guard Jimmy Butler, one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA, will be sidelined for this matchup, but Miami still boasts a top-10 Defensive Rating.
There is an angle of going up against a tired Heat team, but the George over 26.5 points prop seems like the riskiest play of the three props.
