NBA Player Props for Tuesday, March 18
- Draymond Green Over 9.5 Points (-115)
- Kris Dunn Under 11.5 PRA (-115)
- Giannis Antetokounmpo Under 7.5 Assists (-137)
I generally hate betting on Green to score, but this isn't a bad spot, and he's played well since Jimmy Butler joined the Warriors.
Green has hit the over at this number in 10 of the past 15 games, and with Stephen Curry's possible absence, Green's usage could increase.
The matchup is average, but with a 3-point spread, Green is likely to get a full complement of minutes, making this line too low.
Pick: Draymond Green Over 9.5 Points (-115)
The Clippers have dealt with injuries to multiple key players and some lesser rotation pieces this season, but they're finally healthy. Norman Powell returned on Sunday, but Dunn missed that game. He was actually the only regular who didn't suit up that night. The Clippers had 10 guys play 12+ minutes, including solid roles for bench guards Bogdan Bogdanovic, Ben Simmons, and Amir Coffey.
Dunn has played 10 games with all Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Powell available. He's averaged 4.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He's averaging just 19.4 minutes in those games. Dunn will likely be in the starting lineup alongside the trio, which is a negative for his production. Instead of leading the bench unit, he's playing with the Clippers' 3 highest-usage players.
Cleveland is in the top 10 in points allowed, rebounds allowed, and assists allowed per game. They're 7th in defensive rating on the season. Cleveland leads the league in offensive rating, so the Clippers will need to score to remain competitive. Leaning on more offensive-minded players like Bogdanovic, Coffey, and Nic Batum might make more sense in this matchup. Dunn will likely have a tough time cracking 20 minutes. In 16 games playing less than 20 minutes, he's averaged 9.2 PRA.
Pick: Kris Dunn Under 11.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-105)
By Jim Turvey
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks face the Warriors on Tuesday, and I'll be looking to fade the Greek Freak's assist total. Even with Antetokounmpo seeing a recent bump in assists, he's cleared this 7.5 number only twice in the past seven games and in four of the 12 since returning from injury. For the season as a whole, he's clearing this at just a 25.4 percent clip versus 42.2 percent implied.
All that is before getting to what is a tough matchup for assists. The Warriors give up the 11th fewest assists per game for the season as a whole, and since Jimmy Butler arrived, the defense has really been locked in, allowing the fourth-fewest assists per game. For his career, Antetokounmpo averages just 4.6 assists per game against the Warriors, a bottom-eight number against all teams. Given many of the Warriors' core have been steady over this time, I don't mind checking the career rate.
I'd play this down to under 6.5, -115.
Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo Under 7.5 Assists (-137)
