Game 4 of the NBA Finals tips off Friday night as the Warriors look to tie up the series before heading back home for Game 5. There have been a few players who are shining in the NBA Finals thus far, and I will be backing them to continue their stellar play!
We'll be using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the props posted at a variety of sportsbooks. Below, I have laid out two prop bets that I'm playing, the case for each bet and the best books to find odds on those player props.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Robert Williams, Over 2.5 Blocks + Steals (-140)
Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics | Celtics -3.5 |
Time | TV | 9 p.m. ET | ABC |
Best Book | DraftKings |
Robert Williams' value on defense is being undervalued in the betting market, but he has been filling up the stat sheet for the Boston Celtics. He has been incredible protecting the rim and creating havoc on defense and is one of the main reasons why the Celtics have the most efficient defense in the playoffs. Thus far in the postseason, Williams is averaging 2.2 blocks per game and close to a steal per game.
Additionally, he has gone over this projection in two of the three games in the NBA Finals. The lone game he fell short of this was in Game 2 where he only played 14 minutes due to a knee injury. However, he bounced back in Game 2 with two blocked shots.
Williams' magic number is 20 or more minutes. In games where Williams has played 20 or more minutes, he has gone over this projection in seven of nine games. Even though this player prop is a bit juiced, Williams has been solid defensively enough to trust him here.
Draymond Green, Over 5.5 Assists (-125)
Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics | Celtics -4 |
Time | TV | 9 p.m. ET | ABC |
Best Book | DraftKings |
Draymond Green is coming off one of his worst postseason performances in Game 3. He finished with only two points, four rebounds, three assists and fouled out. So far in the NBA Finals, Green has scored 15 points and committed 15 personal fouls.
However, I want to back Green to bounce back. This postseason, Green is averaging 6.1 assists per game, and after a loss, he is averaging 7.8 assists per game.
Klay Thompson had his best shooting performance so far in Game 3 of the NBA Finals after a tough two games in San Francisco. I expect him to stay hot, and Green's assist numbers will benefit. This number is a little conservative given his averages and this spot, so I will take the over.
