  • Our expert is backing a pair of Celtics on Thursday night as Boston looks to extend the Eastern Conference Finals.
  • Munaf Manji is backing Grant Williams and Derrick White in Game 5.

The Eastern Conference Finals shift back to Boston for Game 5 as the Celtics look to extend the series. The Celtics got their first victory of this series in Game 4 and avoided the sweep. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat look to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. Below are a couple of player props I like for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.

Grant Williams, Over 6.5 Points (-133)

I'm expecting Grant Williams to continue contributing offensively. In this series against the Miami Heat, Williams is averaging 28 minutes and close to 12 points per game. During the regular season, Williams played in all four games against the Heat and scored 10 or more points three times. Despite not getting any minutes in Game 1, Williams has been shooting efficiently from the field.

In fact, Williams is shooting 63.6% from the 3-point line and has scored nine or more points in all three games he's played. Additionally, over the past two games, Williams is averaging seven shot attempts, 64.2% of which have come from beyond the 3-point line. With the amount of 3's the Celtics attempt per game, I expect Williams to continue getting open looks.

Derrick White, Steals + Blocks Over 1.5 (-130)

As great as Derrick White has been on the offensive end, he's also been thriving defensively. Over the past three games, White has gone over this total three times. In fact, White has recorded at least two blocked shots in three straight games in this series.

White has done a fantastic job contesting shots and getting his hands in the passing lanes to create turnovers. Additionally, Joe Mazzulla made the decision to insert White into the starting lineup, giving White an increase in minutes. White has done a great job of using his length and blocking shots in this series. If the Celtics are going to extend the series and win Game 5, they'll need the same defensive effort and energy they brought in Game 4.
