Sunday features the only Game 7 of the second round between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. Facing elimination, the Celtics went on the road in Game 6 in a low scoring 95-86 victory. They are 6.5-point home favorites to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals today. With a 201-point game total, expect another slow-paced game. This article will feature two player props, including role players Tyrese Maxey and Derrick White. Let's break it down.

According to our NBA Prop Model, Maxey under props are the best options in this game. There are several under props that look appealing including this points, rebounds, and assists prop. During this series, Maxey has been extremely inconsistent with three games scoring over 25 points and three games scoring under 15 points.
Teammate James Harden has also been inconsistent with two games scoring over 40 points and the other four games scoring under 17 points. With Jekyll and Hyde performances from both players, it is difficult to pinpoint which Maxey and Harden will show up. However, the Celtics defense has remained consistent. They have the second-best Defensive Rating in the second round of the playoffs as they are allowing only 104.2 points per game.
The 76ers have an implied total of 97.25 points as this Game 7 is expected to be slow and played in the half court. Maxey is only shooting 40.2% from the field in this series while averaging five rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. This will all come down to Maxey's ability to make perimeter shots because the Celtics are allowing only 36.3 points per game in the paint. Our model has Maxey projected for 24.3 points, rebounds and assists today.
Pick: Tyrese Maxey Under 28.5 PRA |
Derrick White Over 10.5 Points and Rebounds (-105)
Spread | Celtics -6.5 |

For the first time in the playoffs, Derrick White came off the bench as the Celtics decided to start Robert Williams for a stronger interior presence against Joel Embiid. Expect the Celtics to stick with that starting rotation as it held the 76ers to only 86 points. Despite still coming off the bench, White's over 10.5 points and rebound prop looks a little too low.
Despite seeing his playing time drop to 19 minutes last game, White still poured in three 3-pointers and pulled down two rebounds. White's assists have plummeted in this series, but his scoring and rebounding hasn't. He is averaging 10 points and three rebounds per game while going over this 10.5 prop line in each of his last five games against the 76ers. Our model has White projected for 11.8 points and rebounds today, which is a full point over this prop line.
The 76ers' Defensive Rating in the second round has been the second-lowest of the eight playoff teams. Their Rebounding Percentage has also dipped, which is why White has two games in his last four with 5+ rebounds. After playing 27+ minutes in each of the first five games of this series, it is hard to envision White playing below 20 minutes again, even when coming off the bench. The over of this prop is at near even-money, which is very juicy.
