Magic vs. 76ers
From Rotogrinders expert Kyle Murray: "I love Tyrese Maxey as much as the next person, but this is a difficult spot, and the role that he has is not quite the same as it was last season with no Joel Embiid, as Paul George and Jared McCain are also taking up usage. This is a bad matchup too, as the Magic rank third in defense and have played at a bottom-5 pace."
Maxey hit has rebounds and assists number last night, but scored just 21 points to come in under this number. Tonight presents a much tougher defensive matchup on the second leg of a back-to-back for Philly.
Pick: Tyrese Maxey Less than 36.5 points, rebounds and assists
Magic vs. 76ers
Oubre did hit this number last night, but that was on 4-of-5 shooting from 3 — something I wouldn't expect to repeat tonight.
A poor shooter (32.6% from 3-point range for his career about 28% this season), Oubre will need volume to get there, and our projections don't expect enough of it.
Pick: Kelly Oubre Jr. Less than 12.5 points and assists
Timberwolves vs. Clippers
Our projections like Zubac over this number here, as his usage has been steady as ever, with an average of 32.1 per game and a median of 33.
His points have been down the last two games on uncharacteristically poor shooting (6 of 17 in those contests) which might be what's keeping this number lower, but he's a career 61.2% shooter, so those games are likely outliers and should regress.
Pick: Ivica Zubac More than 15.5 points and assists
Hawks vs. Bucks
Again from Rotogrinders expert Kyle Murray: "Green has quietly carved out a steady role in this Milwaukee rotation, as he has played 21+ minutes in 9 of his last 10 games. Green is averaging 0.42 points per minute this season, and he also has a great matchup here against the Hawks. They are bottom 10 in defense, are top 3 in pace, and have allowed the 5th-most points per game."
Pick: AJ Green More than 6.5 points
Lakers vs. Heat
From Murray: "We have had some success betting on Jimmy Buckets lately, so let's go back to him in this matchup against the Lakers. Butler did miss last game with an injury, but I am expecting him to play his full complement of minutes in this one. He gets a solid matchup, as the Lakers are in the bottom 7 of defensive efficiency this season."
