The NBA Rookie of the Year market is taking plenty of action after the NBA Draft on Wednesday night.
Zach Edey has been the most popular bet to win the award after he was drafted ninth overall to the Memphis Grizzlies.
It was a bit of a surprise as Edey was +275 at DraftKings to be drafted in the top 10.
But after the selection, bettors have been rushing to bet on him to win Rookie of the Year.
Edey opened at +2500 to win Rookie of the Year at BetMGM and is already +1200 to win the award after bettors have pounced on him. Edey is getting 33.3% of the bets and 33.3% of the handle. As a result, he's the biggest liability at BetMGM.
Edey won back-to-back AP National Player of the Year awards during his final two seasons at Purdue. He led Purdue to the national title game this past season and also led the country in points per game and rebounds per game.
Donovan Clingan is the second-biggest liability for BetMGM. Clingan was drafted seventh overall by the Portland Trail Blazers. The former UConn Husky is getting 14.3% of the tickets and accounts for 25.3% of the handle. Clingan is +2000 to win ROY.
The other major liability for BetMGM is Dalton Knecht. The former Tennessee star was drafted No. 17 overall to the Los Angeles Lakers. Knecht is getting 21.4% of the bets and accounts for 30.4% of the money.
Alexandre Sarr, the No. 2 overall pick, is the favorite to win ROY at +425 odds at BetMGM. The No. 1 overall pick, Zaccharie Risacher, is +700 at BetMGM.
