Sports writers at Action Network tend to have a talent for winning bets. Well, let’s take some of their +EV bets and put them in a same-game parlay.
Each day, we have best bets from our NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB analysts who cover sides, totals and niche markets like player prop bets. As recreational bettors, we all like to occasionally indulge in our degenerate side. So, when the time comes, let’s do it responsibly and create a fun, low-stakes same-game parlay.
For today’s same-game parlay, we’ll use Game 5 of the Western Conference Final between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves on May 30, 2024:
Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Game 5 Same-Game Parlay
- Luka Doncic Over 9.5 Rebounds
- Karl-Anthony Towns Over 19.5 Points
- Mavericks +5.5 -110
Parlay Odds: +550
All eyes will be on Mavericks’ superstar Luka Doncic and how he responds tonight. Although he managed a triple-double in Game 4, the Wolves ultimately pulled out the win.
Alex Hinton has his sights set on Luka but not for scoring but for his rebound prop in Game 5:
“Doncic smashed this line with 15 rebounds in Game 4, matching his high this postseason.
“Doncic stepped up on the glass with the Mavericks missing Derrick Lively's presence. However, I wouldn't worry about Doncic's rebounding if Lively is back. Doncic has had 10 rebounds in seven of his last 10 games, nine of which Lively played in.”
“In that span, Doncic is averaging 14.8 rebound chances. He had 17 chances in Game 4 and nearly converted all of them, but 10-of-15 would clear this line tonight.”

Depending on your point of view, Karl-Anthony Towns is either the reason the Timberwolves will win tonight or the reason Minnsota coughs up Game 5.
Although it can frustrating to bet on the former No.1-overall pick, Chris Baker thinks we need to go back to KAT to put up points:
“I’ve been on this prop for every game of this series, and it’s been frustrating to see Towns struggle with efficiency, but the volume has been there. Towns scored 25 on an efficient 9-of-13 from the field in Game 4 but likely would have reached 30 points if he could’ve kept himself out of foul trouble.”
“Towns also led the Wolves with a +15 plus-minus, so I have less fear of him being benched for Naz Reid here as Towns actually made a tremendously positive impact on the game in multiple ways.”
“Towns is talented enough to score 30 or 35 points here, but as long as he can stay at just average efficiency, he should reach 20 points tonight.”

The Mavericks are one game away from making the NBA Finals but entering Game 5, they’re underdogs vs the Timberwolves.
Joe Dellera feels the bet tonight needs to be on the Mavericks spread:
“Dallas had a rough Game 4 while scoring just 98 points with an eFG% of just 50.6%, by far its worst offensive performance of the series. The Mavericks' Offense Rating was just 105.4, compared to marks north of 114.9 in each of the prior three games.”
“These teams both can make some adjustments here, but considering how close this series has been, this number for Dallas is too high.”
“This line opened at -4 and was immediately steamed up to Wolves -5. Despite that, I'm interested in the Mavericks against the spread. Three of the four games in this series have been decided by five or fewer points. The other game was a Dallas victory by nine points.”
