Sports writers at Action Network tend to have a talent for winning bets. Well, let’s take some of their +EV bets and put them in a same-game parlay.

Each day, we have best bets from our NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB analysts who cover sides, totals and niche markets like player prop bets. As recreational bettors, we all like to occasionally indulge in our degenerate side. So, when the time comes, let’s do it responsibly and create a fun, low-stakes same-game parlay.

For today’s Pacers vs Celtics same-game parlay, we’ll use Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics on May 23, 2024.

One of the unsung heroes of Game 1 was Derrick White. Not only has he taken on the task of shadowing Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton, but he's shown he can be a threat from the perimeter after hitting three 3s in the victory.

Bryan Fonseca thinks if the Celtics roll in Game 2, and it’s likely because of hot shooting from White:

“Projecting home blowouts generally means a good effort from role players, and White is the guy against a generally "meh" Pacers defense.”

“White has gone over 2.5 3s in 7-of-11 playoff games this season, as well as in 3-of-4 and 6-of-8.”

“I also think the Celtics win and cover, which is roughly a 10-point spread. The Celtics have seven wins by 10 or more points in the playoffs: White has gone over 2.5 3s in six of those games, averaging 22 points.”

One of the big moves in the offseason for the Celtics was acquiring guard Jrue Holiday. The former All-Star has fit in swimmingly so far in Celtics Green and in Game 1, he looked like a player with proven playoff pedigree (say that five times fast).

While he may not play 48 minutes again, like in Game 1, Joe Dellera projects another do-it-all performance in Game 2:

“Jrue Holiday made his impact felt on both sides of the floor and while I have some concerns about the scoring being replicable, the other counting stats were supported by the opportunity."

“He secured seven boards on 14 chances and dished out eight assists on 13 potentials for a combined 15 rebounds + assists on 27 potentials. Given his role, this seems generally sustainable."

“Jrue has smoked this line historically against Indiana, with more than 10.5 RA in 85% of his games over the last few seasons. While some of this data is old — when he was on the Bucks — it does demonstrate that this had been an exploitable matchup for him.”

Pascal Siakam

One of the key moves from the Pacers this season was trading for Raptors forward Pascal Siakam just before the trade deadline.

The All-Star has seemed to fit in with the Pacers' run-and-gun style thus far, and Alex Hinton thinks we need to bank on Siakam assists in Game 2:

“Siakam now has had at least four assists in each of his past three games. Dating back to his time with the Raptors, he's also hit this line in seven of his past 10 games against the Celtics, averaging 4.9 assists per game in that stretch.”

“Siakam is averaging 6.3 potential assists per game over his last 10 outings, including nine twice in the last five. The Pacers create those chances with their free-flowing offense. They also convert a lot of them, as they're averaging 115.2 points per game and shooting 51% in the playoffs.”

“If Siakam has nine potential assists again, he may convert six or more in Game 2."
