Tonight's matchup: Knicks vs 76ers Game 6 on May 2, 2024:
Knicks vs 76ers Same-Game Parlay: Game 6
- Joel Embiid Under 30.5 Points
- Miles McBride Over 9.5 Points
- Knicks ML
Parlay Odds: +575 (Bet $10 to win $67.50)
I'm not sure what’s bigger: Joel Embiid’s knee brace or the target on his back in the eyes of the Knicks’ defenders. The eye test of the Sixers big man seems to show that something still isn’t right with the reigning NBA MVP’s leg, which may explain why his scoring has dipped in the playoffs.
Although he has 50-point game already in the series, Bryan Fonseca explains why he’s fading Embiid’s recent scoring output.
“With the way Joel Embiid looks, it's hard to see him having another big scoring performance if he's mostly shooting jumpers. His true shooting percentage is down from 64.4% to 58.2% (regular season to playoffs). He's shooting 21.6 field goal attempts per contest, but he's only hitting 43.5%, and despite 6.8 3s per game, he's hitting only 2.2 a night (32.4%).”

The Knicks rotation may need a shakeup offensively in Game 6 with guard Donte DiVincenzo struggling with his 3-point shot. The next man up in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation is point guard Miles “Deuce” McBride.
NBA playoff series are all about matchups and according to Maltman, McBride has the scoring edge over DiVincenzo.
“The Knicks are +24.3 points per possession when McBride is on the floor during the playoffs. During the regular season, when McBride played at least 22 minutes, he had double-digit points in 20 of 22 games. He's played at least 26 minutes three times in this series, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he started and/or saw 28 or more tonight.”
Both the Knicks and Sixers likely feel they should be up 3-2 in the series. The win margin through five games is minimal and if Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey didn’t turn into Superman in Game 5, this series would’ve been over.
According to Kenny Ducey, the Knicks are the team to back tonight in a close-out spot in Game 6:
“In Game 5, New York's offense was once again quiet, but its defense continued to look incredibly formidable. The Knicks held Philly to just 110.9 points per 100 possessions despite allowing a middling 38.5% from 3.”
“New York's excellent shooting in Philly this season is hard to ignore, especially when you consider it has shot the 3 well away from home. I expect more shots to fall here, and I'm very encouraged by the fact that they've done well to neutralize the Sixers inside.”
“The Knicks remain the better team in this series, and aside from one wild shooting night in Philly — which was fueled by five triples from Embiid (a huge outlier) — they've completely shut down the Sixers' offense.”
